I think we're all just soooo used to the same trope all over again that we refuse to accept change. It's always Leo the leader,Raph the rebel,this that bla bla. thats why i personally think this show is very refreshing. I really love that leo finally gets to be goofy instead of the stoic leader he's always depicted to be. "they all act the same" uhh,theyre supposed to be teens? Thats why theyre childish. Tho i do admit they shud have a certain personality trait for each of them. I like how Donnie is more mature and sarcastic than the others. The animation is good too. Theyre very expressive and fight scenes are very well animated. My only peeve about this show is that the dialogues sometimes tries too hard to be funny. However,overall i really like this rendition of tmnt. If yall hate it so much go watch the other series lol. It didnt go anywhere.

Despite splinter being fat rat man, he's backstory is actually really interesting!

I actually liked this show, for a few reasons: 1. Animation, that's obvious. 2. The turtles interacting with eachother. There are moments where they all bond, make fun of themselves, also there was definitely a lot of rivalry with Leo and Raph to see who really is the leader of the 4, which I thought Leo would end up being. 3. Any smartass joke Donnie makes. 4. New villains, which are weird but also very entertaining, 5. I do like the theme song. It's nostalgic but got that new gen of music along with it. 6. Whenever they try to be stealthy is still fucking great to me, cuz most people are bad at it. 7. Lastly- they did turn Casey into a girl, which was a neat twist, because shd was the apprentice of the paper folders, who could make things alive with paper, and it's like "who the fuck are you" and at the end it's like "ohhhhhhhhh. Makes sense. Subtle, didn't know at all, but makes sense."

i havent seen a tmnt show in years honestly but this one surprisingly still hit the mark, mostly. im not too fond of leo's personality in the first episode and its a weak introduction to him being more comedy based than his usual leader role. splinter is horribly jarring to see be detached and takes some getting used to, if you can get used to it at all. though don is still a huge fav for being a huge dork on levels of "i customized a roomba because i have the intelligence to" and that theme song brings back the fun feeling youre going to be on a wild adventure with them and i loved that so much as a kid. im glad its still around.

1. I'm just glad it's not some stupid comedy with action elements like Teen Titans Go 2. Raphael is just way too big compared to everyone else. 3. Splinter is way worse than before 4. I really hope Casey Jones makes an appearance

April's change in character was a really pleasant surprise. Splinter though.... Oooh no no no no ;-; I've never wanted to hide my face in my hoodie cuz of the cringe I felt. (Edit) I'm back from the future to say oh my god I cannot express how much I love this show

I think this show has its flaw mostly in the storytelling which is something 2012 had. And 2012 was missing a lot of the fun teenager stuff the 2018 had. If both mixed up or even better a cross over...*i hope* it would be awesome.

I had a bit of faith in the show because much like Ninjago, characters were getting reworks. I love the execution in the episodes and the humor is not extremely cringe. And my favorite about it: The animation. The animation is just FANTASTIC. Honestly, Nickelodeon did better animation on this than the talented peeps who grew the first few episodes of Dragon Ball Super

This show isn't perfect, but I love what I've seen so far. the animation is sooo good, I generally like the turtles and April's personality, and the episodes, while less serious, seem to be leading to an ongoing plot, similar to the way the 80s series did. Splinter sucks in this version though...

In my opinion, they should have waited a little longer before they released this show. They were litterally stacked right on top of each other. Heck, Im still recovering from tmnt 2012! I mean, I'm sure other people don't care, but when I first heard about this show, I was like, "Didn't the other one just finished?!" I mean tmnt 2012 was intense story wise and there are still a whole lot of unanswered questions. (Like timothy and the fact that he's still a pile of goo.) But anyways, here's what I do like about the show: 1. The art and animation 2. Black April (😏✊represent!) 3. BEN SCHWARTZ AND THE FACT THAT HE'S PLAYING BLUE CHARACTERS THAT I LOVE! (Leonardo, Dewey Duck, and 2019 Sonic the Hedgehog) What I don't like: 1. Leo's personality 2. Splinter's personality 3. Raph being the oldest and the leader. But hey, I'll still watch it. I'll just lower my expectations so I can enjoy it wothout comparing it to past tmnt series.

I want my 2012 bros back!! 😭

I love Rise, it quickly became my favorite beside 2003. The best thing about it is how you can't bring in any of your previous TMNT expectations after encountering Shredder and Krang 50 times, but unexpectedly many classic traits still come up, played in a different way. The characters are actually more nuanced than standard cookie cutter roles despite being a comedy. The "All Mikeys" is not the case at all with an open mind and consideration that these are children first, not immediately raised to be warriors and that they do heroism by choice. This allows them to be bold enough to give them solo or duo episodes, especially the oft neglected Mikey and Donnie. And while Splinter had a purposely bad first impression, he has since been shown to be the most father first--teacher second of all Splinters, which I'm sure surprises anyone who judged by the cover. Which, to be fair, was a really bad cover. And god, the animation, the animation is stuff I'd kill to see in cinema. It's like a moving comicbook. Rise is a gem and I hope it has a good long life. Most its haters are purists in their 30's or fresh from the ending of 2012, but I promise if you keep an open mind, you can see how wonderful it is as a breath of fresh air after decades of recycling the source material.

it was at the part where Alpha said it was an interesting decision to not have April and Donnie together like in the 2012 series that I started to think that was the only other tmnt exposure Alpha has had. When that show came out Donnies crush on her was even more of a controversy with fans than April being a teenager was specifically bc IT deviated from the norm so much! ROTTMNT isn't a reimagining of TMNT 2012, but of the general TMNT story that's been reinvented again and again and again over the years, and watching ROTTMNT with that in mind apparently makes for a very different experience than if you just compare it to TMNT 2012. For another example, Alpha watched this and saw a Leo who had no real impact bc he wasn't the leader. I watched the 2003 show as a kid, then the 2012 one, and know peripherally about the 1980's show and the fact there are black and white comics it all started from. So when I saw it I viewed it as a very interesting interruption of the basic facts every incarnation has been founded by so far - that Leo is the calm leader and the eldest while they’re all the same ‘age’ like quadruplets, all facts which have changed in this version - and I saw Leo having more of a personality making up an individual identity beyond his role in the team for the first time. I just think it’s one thing to not LIKE a change, and another to miss the point of it in the first place. Same thing with the Splinter situation. Plenty of people don’t like the route they’ve gone, hell I didn’t like the route they’ve gone when I watched the first episode. But a) I understood that they were purposefully aiming to get away from the wise old sensei/father archetype that he’s been in every previous version, and b) the ideas that they come up with using this new set up of the family’s dynamic as the episodes have gone on honestly makes me feel it’s worth it! This show isn’t aiming more for action, it’s aiming more for COMEDY, and there’s been several very funny episodes so far that wouldn’t be possible if Splinter had to be taken seriously. And the fact that people watching will almost definitely know it’s a reboot, even kids bc their parents will very likely have at least known about the 1980’s series, makes this all the funnier! Same with the weapons being changed by them literally finding exact copies of the ones they’ve held all this time and then dumping them on the ground for ‘’the glowy ones!’’, same with them zipping right over the mob boss at the start to cannonball the rooftop pool since everyone expected them to go deal with crime since they’re known as crime fighters, and made as blatant as possible with the Mad Dogs joke at the end - am I making any sense? I guess what I’m saying is that by only taking this show in with the most recent previous version in mind, when so many of the decisions are based off of the fact it’s such a long running idea that’s had so so many incarnations is…unusually closed-minded for Alpha. I usually enjoy his ponderings and musings, the way his thoughts go broad in some places and zone in on details in others to come out with some interesting thoughts presented in an enjoyable manner, but that’s why this video feels…off. P.S. did Alpha totally miss the mysticism side of things? That the dog-joggers weren’t mutants, that it wasn’t a mutant underground city, but a mystic one as April calls it, that Draxum wasn’t a mutant but a mystic demon MAKING mutants, and that aside from the family there’s a good chance there WEREN’T any other mutants until those mosquitoes escaped at the end of this very episode? Again, it seems obvious to me, and Alpha isn’t usually this… I guess is the right word is unobservant.

How to fix splinter: make him like iroh from avatar last airbender.

After the season 2 finale I could say that rise of tmnt gotten WAY better. Raphael being the leader and bigger one doesn’t seem as bad as it was at the beginning. (Mostly bc he could get the job done) Leo’s character isn’t that annoying bc he of his role as second in charge and always be the cool and goofy character. Donnie is still Donnie but more stubborn. Mickey now has that Theodore role from Alvin and the Chipmunks being the baby and the one with the biggest heart. Splinter learns to be more involved in the boy’s lives and actually being a father and mentor. I love how April is now playing as an extra field player making sure the boys are being put in check. So in all the character development and the writing improve the show.

Splinter is definitely the biggest disappointment here. You almost wouldn't recognize him if you didn't have the context of the show. Just... a real waste of a character that's always been super cool. The animation is also a bit odd for me. Like, the action looks good, there's a lot of cool angles and shot compositions, and I adore the color palettes. But something about the slower more mundane scenes seems really choppy? I guess kind of like you mentioned, a sketchy comic book. But there's some moments where it just looks stiff and robotic almost. The comedy is also not really for me, but that's much more of a personal thing.

The one thing I absolutely do not like about the art is Donatello. Dunno why, his head just looks too tall. I know, "smart character with a big brain" and all but he's already wearing a lot of tech gear. Just doesn't look quite right. And seeing all them together standing in front of one another, I think I see why I was dubious about the designs from the start. They're a Liefeldian team. Seriously, they're all there. Smaller body, 2 neutral bodies, one giant, and one female. As to why they keep calling it a dog, maybe it's a young komainu/doglion? Puppycub?

I think the show started well, but it definitely isn’t a good representation for the rest of the show so far. I personally think the comedy got better, the characters like Leo got SO much better and even splinter (who i hated in this version) is slowly getting better. It’s not story focused, but in each episode you can see a bit of lore, continuity, and development. I honestly didn’t like this show at all at first, but after watching a few episodes I can honestly say that this is one of my favorite versions along with 2003 and 2012, despite being very different in tone. I love the subtly, good characters and incredible action sequences.

I dont watch the series, but I see they revitalized the TMNT and made it more of a cartoon version rather than the CGI. The animation looks neat, but the way they move makes you think flash animation. I don't know. The 2012 series looked decent in comparison.

I feel like splinter does become a bit of a better character later in the series especially on episodes that focus around him

Not a big fan so far. I don't hate it like Titans or TTG, but I'm not a fan. POSITIVES: Comedy's good. Black April is pretty enjoyable. The use of modern teen stuff for the comedy is somewhat on-point.The opening is very energetic, fun and flowing.Character designs for the Turtles and April are pretty damn good. NEGATIVES: SPLINTER. Raph as the toned-down leader of the group is really off-putting. They'r epractically all the party guy with only Raph, April and Donnie having something that makes then a different version of party guys. Taking Leo out of the leader position in a show like this makes him virtually unnecessary. John Cena played a good villain, but was ultimately unimpressive and underwhelming. The introduction of Magical Weapons is a weird mcguffin. The idea of Raph not meing so intense may make him better as a leader, but it subtracts from his actual character. SPLINTER!

tbh, I liked the way they did Splinter. He may not be as serious as previous interations, but he's still sensei and father of the turtles, so he gets serious when needed. I say this after being caught up to the show at this point.

I found the animation good but still somewhat lacking. I still wanted to watch because I still love the franchise. So yes, and I'll give it a watch.

I do admit the show is hilarious and I like that its colorful now with better lighting, but not bright like the 80s show, nor near pitch black like the 2003 and 2012 show. The action also has a lot of good camera angles that really give it a dynamic look.

From the other episodes plus this one, I absolutely love the show. Donnatello-centred jokes are the best ones.

In my opinion I really like the series, to most of the biased turtle fans you like the old stuff better, please keep it to yourself, besides the word rise is where they all started. Besides really I am pleasantly surprised. The turtles had started out with entirely different personalities, Leo was funny pun crazy one, Mikey had a good life and was happy with his brothers, Raphael started out as the gentle giant who was more of a protector than a abuser, and even though Donnie is the intelligent one, he did have a touch of an ego. I know there are flaws that fans aren't comfortable with especially splinter, but when it comes to the big picture I really like the direction of a storyline and characters and I really like the Unique Designs that they have, hell I'm happy that this April is supportive and happy with the turtles. To those fans that are to bias and negative with something new in the franchise, shut your pie holes and dig into your own old shells. Those who don't Embrace change are missing out on a lot of things in life. And here's a side note the brothers treated Mikey a lot better in this version than all the others, and that's saying something. I will call these Turtles the rising Hamatos. 💜🐢🐢🐢🐢💛

I've never been a big fan of TMNT, but I did like the CGI 2012 adaptation. I don't think this one will be as good as that one was.

I was scared that they would go all SJW on April but they didn't. Her design is different but they focus on her personality instead of her being a 'symbol' which is what a character should be a personality.

The intro is really good and catchy may not be as good as the 2012 reboot but as bad as the live action movie I think it was ok

The show has a killer animatronic bear voiced by Tom Kenny and named Robearto. That alone makes the show a 10/10 in my books.

The voice acting is great. The artstyle is odd but it makes it to where the animation can be more fluid. The action as a whole is cool. I like the comedy they go for as well. Raph being the leader was...Interesting They all have the party boy attitude but they all have thier own quirks. Things may change thouugh since these turtles are still new to crime fighting. Splinter was odd

I think this show is actually pretty good. And yes splinter isnt the best but because of recent episodes i actually am growing on splinter and who splinter really is.

Darn my favorite version is Patreon exclusive all well. So far I like this version it’s animation is very good and feels like a show I can watch if I just want a good time for 11 mins like we bare bares, justice league action and duck tales reboot. ROTMNT is like the Lego Ninjago movie. Really, both are hated due to them not following their respective plot point from the original idea. But if you've never watched the original film, you enjoy it more. This show is a example of "Ignorance is Bliss". Don't get me wrong, I liked the older versions on tmnt. But, especially as a person who adores animation, I LOVE this show. I can agree with people are saying that Splinter and Leonardo have the least done with and are either standby or stereotypes. But they actually get better over the course of the series. It's like the Good Dinosaur but lacking less. They do so much on the look and feel of the animation, that sometimes the writing of the characters don't make sense. But honestly, I could be liking this because I am a zoomer, and honestly prefer the look. Idk, rottmnt makes me feel a a emotion that does exist.

The 2012 one was great aside from the last season. I like the animation of the intro and the art style. However, animation in the episodes are really bad and choppy. Dialogue is also really weird

Honestly, i love this series. I think its downfall was that it came RIGHT after 2012 ended. Thing is with this one is that it’s slow in the first bit, but gets better lager on! And Splinter also gets better later on, you just gotta get used to him No love interests? YES PLEASE! That annoyed me so much with the 2012 series that every female character was a love interest

Ralph was originally the leader, then leo became the leader

Ironically, at the end of the series, Leonardo becomes the leader.

Leonardo is more unmotivated and snarky, but you see in the series that he’s like the navigator of the group. Raph may be the leader that takes charge, but Leo is better with strategy. He’s the leader behind the scenes, and keeps the team on track!! {SPOILER} He becomes the leader later

The burp cracked me up ^^ about the show: i really dislike that raph is the leader, since he is my least favourite character and the new splinter is terrible. the change of splinter alone makes this show worse then 2012 tmnt.

Coming from a teen who was a kid that grew up with ( and overly obsessed with) the 2012 tmnt 1. I'm not mad at all with April's change at all , but i loved getting to see April (2012) meeting/ reacting to the turtles love backgrounds 2. Not gonna lie- there where some things with 2012 tmnt i didn't like : Leo and Kari dating when they had the same dad, the final seasons where very dragged on and boring ( Space and on) 3. I loved the interactions between KC and Raph in tmnt and im hoping he appears. 4. The addition of magic was also.. unique ? Not sure if i like that or not mutants themselves have so many options 5. No Krang? 6. RAPHAEL : ok so- Leo i feel is known as the leader, not going to lie it was his defining traits in the original. Raphael was hotheaded, but was second in command. Leo was learning to step up and look out for his brothers sometimes being nerdy with the space shows and everything. In this one he is just kind of... there? He doesn't really stand out to me anymore. 7. Design : the art style in this show is super cool but just.. why is Raph so much bigger? 8. * S P L I N T E R * - His design is awful! - How are we supposed to expect he taught them to fight? - In the 2012 he was worried about them and taught them. This show is growing on me and I loved the movie. But I'm still not a fan of Raph being so large, and I wish their shells weren't so complicated (I have an obsession with the classic 1990 costume designs). Otherwise, I love how different they look.

I never was a TMNT fan, but I really like this version better than the other versions. I also really like the animation, it’s so cartoony and fluent.

Eh....i still perfer the old old tmnt series that aired on 4kids. I still have some if those disks. God that show was fun to watch and was one of my favorite shows as a kid.

I didn't like spinter in this version at first because I love the 2012 version, but he really grows as a character throughout the series especially with his interesting backstory. Him and the turtle learn to respect one another, I just didn't like how lazy they made him at the beginning. I love how sarcastic the voice actor is for Donatello, the voice acting is great considering Rob Paulsen does the voice directing. The fight scenes are fantastic to watch and I grew to enjoy Leo's character as the show went on especially with Ben shwarts (Dewy, Randy, and sonic) voicing him.

I honestly love this show, it feels fresh the fast paste anime like animation is superb, the designs and the way the turtles interact off of each other are so distinct, and I'm pretty sure the thinking the cat thing is a dog is the joke. I know everyone prefers 2012 version but the whole dark gritty sometimes funny sometimes not and love triangle got tiresome for me, and Mikey was pretty annoying and raph just felt like a huge asshole, everything else was fine tho.

Donnie and april were never a thing until the 2012 series, so I doubt she’ll be with donnie in this one.

I'm pretty sure what they were going with the cat/dog(Mayhem) was, based on it's design, for it to be a Shisha, basically an East asian lion-dog myth guardian thing. So I think it's supposed to be both a dog and cat, but it's still weird that they call it a dog when it exhibits no dog traits.
