Күн бұрынThe Boston Bruins made some key additions this free agency with bringing in Elias Lindholm and Nikita Zadorov. That being said, they lost some key figures as well, such as, Jake DeBrusk, Danton Heinen, and more to Free Agency. They also traded Linus Ullmark to Ottawa Senators in exchange for Joonas Korpisalo, Mark Kastelic and a first-round pick in the 2024 NHL Draft (Dean Letourneau). Have the Bruins become a better hockey team?

Actually he scored 42 goals in the 2021-22 season when he was line mated with Johnny Gaudreau and Matthew Tkachuk where all 3 had 40+ Goal season. The following season after Calgary traded away Gaudreau and Tkachuk, Lindholm only scored 22 Goals in his last full season with Calgary. So in order to make the most of this signing, the Bruins need to put Lindholm between Marchand and Pastrnak if they want to have one real good line. With Debrusk gone they no longer have a second line, so might as well have Marchand go back on the same line with Pastrnak. Unfortunately, the Bruins no longer have any more secondary scoring depth anymore With Debrusk and Heinen gone.

Lindholm had one good year, then cemented himself as a mid 2c/3c. Ive not been impressed with his game and very thankful vancouver did not sign him.

DeBrust had 19 goals, he might be missed killing penalties thats it.

I think DeBrusk is a good player but 5.5 could either play out well for the Canucks or look like an overpay. Maybe the long term security will bring out the best version in him.

everybody seems to have a bad case of recency bias with lindholm. he wasn't great with vancouver after the deadline that is true, but he was shipped off as a rental into a boisterous offense with the canucks so it was understandable when he struggled to find his place immediately, but he also had 10 points and was +4 in 13 playoff games with them. the guy has been an incredible two-way center for his whole career and showed he had the scoring chops on offense too with his 42 goal season with the flames. idk why people are so skeptical about him

@@laplante1 because the recent bias suggests that he was a coattail rider in Calgary being carried by Tkachuk and Gaudreau. What they don't realize is that Gaudreau is worse off without the other two than Lindholm was, even though he was supposedly the best player of the three. And we don't need to talk about Tkachuk, his biggest contributions were dragging his team into the fight, more than the scoring. I would argue that it's Lindholm who really drove that line, not the other two. You wanna know why he has struggled the last two seasons? They took his 100% chemistry wingers away from him and expected him to perform the same with 0% chemistry Huberdeau who was the worst fit for a Darryl Sutter, North-South system. Lindholm is now exactly where he needs to be to revitalize his career. He's got many guaranteed years ahead to develop chemistry with Pasta and Zacha. Fresh start, fresh hockey soul. Let's fuckin go boys.

I'm more disappointed about Boqvist not being qualified than anybody else leaving. That guy was like Nordstrom with better offensive skills. Very speedy too.

I got a strange feeling max jones might play second line. He was projected top 6 when he was drafted. We gave geekie a chsnce and he thrived. We may see max jones get a chsnce. Big guy, play net front ,cause hsvoc while marchand and coyle light the lamp

I have been following the team since 1989. I am please with the additions. I don't recall so much major moves on a july 1st. I think both Lindholm and Zadorov will be push by the players and the spoke B to be even better same for Poitras and Lohrei as 2nd season. A- for me. I think Sway will sign for 7.5 8yrs Cheers from Québec, Canada

These ex Bruins albeit beloved by me were not getting it done . Debrusks inconsistency, Forrest constantly hurt , Griz mistakes at the worse time.. Etc. Donny had to shuffle the deck . I love the moves .

Yes. The loss of Debrusk is not meaningless but also a huge overreaction. He wanted 6M a year to score 18 goals. I’ll pass. Lysell will fill that role. We needed a top line center more than we needed to pay a player who didn’t want to stay here 6M a year. They are better. I understand why people might not love the contracts but that’s the price of doing business in a players’ market. They got their guys.

I'm excited to see what Lindholm can do. Bruins were in desperate need of a center, say what you want about him, but he is a massive upgrade from what he Celtics had. Losing Debrusk & Grizlyck hurts, but I know they wouldn't keep everyone.

I hope Lindholm plays like the best version of himself. Trust me I want him to be great and make that deal look like a steal! I think Zacha will be moved to wing which will allow him to be more offensive. I like Zacha and felt he did a solid job down the middle but I think on the wing he could be more dynamic. Gryz and Debrusk were with the Bruins for years and I wish them well but it seemed the writing was on the wall for awhile

Wonder if they took a shot at Stamkos. Not sure what kind of offers they got for Ullmark but the demand for top caliber goalies should have gotten more in return. The past goalie trades do not matter. Looking at what goalies are available should have been the only bargaining chip that mattered. Yeah they got better on D but could have gotten better at center and lost a huge piece in net for a bag of nickels. But so long as they are good enough to beat the Leafs I am fine with the Bruins. They are a good team in a tough conference and needed to deal Ullmark so as fun as it is to play armchair GM my guess is not worth squat. Swayman will be looking to get paid and term will be a huge factor so the Bruins need to pay up.

. better like other teams that got better, but are they better enough to have beaten florida? Definitely not. They couldnt score goals, and looking at lindholms stats, they're gonna need more. Lindholm is a poor mans version of bergeron. I understand he was the best center available, but based on his numbers, he was grossly overpaid.

We were 49.5 in the faceoff in the playoffs zacha and Coyle couldn't win the faceoff alot of times we need a number 1 c to win faceoff and that what Elias lindholm does he good at winning faceoff and he also play good 200 foot game too.

Lindholm is an actual first line center. I can't believe how well Boston did last year without a first line center. This will be a huge upgrade. He's better than Pavel Zacha. The defense was supposed to be good last year and wasn't. Loss of Grezlyk and Forbort and adding Zadorov doesn't make them better. Five million is too much for a third pair defenseman but he'll be okay. Korpisalo is a good useful average NHL goalie. He will do well in Boston. Good riddance to Debrusk. The Bruins will be better.

@@edited1325 They played a lot of minutes for a lot of games last year 17:48 and 17:36 for 35 and 63 games respectively. Zadorov played 17:26 a game and costs 5$ million. Bruins will be backfilling with Peeke (2.75M), Lohrei and Wotherspoon.

@@edited1325 The Forbort thing was weird. felt like some sort of personality clash going on with management. I just fear people think Zadorov is going to be the next coming of Chara. He's not. Chara was a one of. I like Zadorov. I like what he brings but he's not worth 5$ million. Probably overpaid at $3.5. He and Peeke together are going be costing more than seven . I love the Lindholm pick up. He actually has that complete game. Not as good as bergeron but like bergeron . I think that's a great pick up.

I think it’s a solid defense, I just want to see how the 3rd pairing does. Does Lohrei take another step? I love Lohrei’s game and I think he will be a stud for the future. Peeke and Wotherspoon are solid bottom pairing guys. If Lohrei takes another step and Hampus bounces back to his prior level (which I believe he can) then I think the Bruins have one of the best dcores in the league.

I think they got better at center for sure now coyle can move down along with Zaca definitely an up grade on defense from gryslick Losing debrusk was tough but not for the money he got he’s to inconsistent I believe we will be a playoff team for sure
