Did the new Sony S2000 soundbar just beat the Sonos Beam Gen 2?

Don't just hear it from me. See the frequency response sweep for yourself. I don't think anyone on KZfaq has reviewed these two USD500 soundbars head to head before OBJECTIVELY. Let the Frequency Response measurements speak for itself.
Of course sound isn't everything and there are pros and cons to each so you will really have to judge it for yourself and decide based on what you are looking for.

hey just a quick little oversight, the two subwoofer drivers are actually flanking the center speaker and the L and R are on the far ends of the bar just so people know

Very good breakdown. I'm looking to buy a new TV so I basically want "better than flat-screen TV speakers" and soundbars are quite expensive as is. Even this budget ones are a sizable chunk of the TV's cost (less now with Black Friday sales being in full effect). The current not-so-flat-TV's sound quality left a lot to be desired, so this time around I figured getting a little bit extra sound capacity won't be a bad idea. I'm leaning towards the Sony, because I think Sony is a good brand, I like the looks of it, and I'm not looking to expand my home theater system to something crazy. Just a new TV and some improved sounds vs the stock that comes with said TV. Thank you for your informative video. ☺

Hi peter, i have a pair of eras 100. I cannot decide if i want to add sub mini or a soundbar to improve the overall sound stage. I primarily listen to music in a small room via airplay. Any suggestions?

Te recomiendo ampliamente la Sonos Beam 2. Con los Sonos Era 100, crearás un auténtico sonido envolvente. Qué te servirán para ver películas con un sonido excepcional, como para escuchar música en una calidad inigualable. Si compras el Subwoofer no podrás tener un teatro en casa. Ocupas primero la barra Sonos y después el Sub.

Thank you for your video. I am the buyer of the $ 900 budget. At present, my TV is 55 -inch. I am making a good share of your videos on these two speakers. I used two HomePod Gen2 to compare Beam Gen2BEAM2 wins in more details. This is more good for connecting TV movies to watch movies. Now I think HT-S2000 is better than Beam because his bass is more. Unfortunately, if you want to AirPlay2, you can only add money to buy HT-A5000

Hi peter, i have sonos arc with 2 subs gen 3 and 2 sonos era 100, its worth it upgrade from era 100 to era 300. Thank you for all you videos, very helpfull.

that would be my question as well. do I need to have era 100 or era 300 as surround and are they worth the money due to sound quality. I also would like to know how era 300 as surround would perform with normal stereo music feed.

For anyone considering these two in the US, right now Best Buy has the Sony S2000 for only $300. At that price seems like the clear winner.

So, sony have a product that is between the beam gen 2 and the arc, on both quality and price, but the consumer then goes well, for a couple extra hundred bucks you go arc, or a few hundred less, you get the gen 2, price match was the only real option.
