Today’s video is very real emotional and raw, I didn’t really cut much of how I was feeling out and I want you all to understand that what we found out was not bad but it just wasn’t what we were expecting to happen to us. Finding out that your baby is the opposite gender to what you had been told a couple of weeks ago is hard to hear.

We are a young family that live in Perth, Australia.
I started KZfaq late 2014 - and have made so many changes through out my KZfaq journey but am happy where I am and I am LOVING IT!

My husband (Jason) & I have been married for 3 years after meeting each other online. In April 2016 we welcomed our handsome son Frederick into the world! He has grown into a cheeky, full of energy, loving personality little boy.

I had a missed miscarriage 2 weeks ago. Found out at my 12 week scan. Had no symptoms that anything was wrong and had seen a healthy heartbeat at my 2 previous scans. I'd do anything to be in your shoes right now! I'm a boy mum to 3 and let me tell you, it's awesome! When I did fall pregnant with baby number 4 everyone was telling me how they bet I wished it was a girl, but truth be told, I couldn't of given a damn. As long as it was healthy! Point is, your gonna love it no matter what. You may be upset now, but having all boys is great. They will grow up best buds. Btw just wanted to point out your glowing!!

Awe love im giving you a big big hug, i know this must feel so out of sorts and confusing and ahhhh and then mixed in with all the crazy pregnancy hormones and things! we need to catch up soon and ill give you a big big hug. Thank you for sharing this with everyone! We all love our babies when they’re here but gender disappointment is a real thing that happens during pregnancy especially when you’ve been told by a dr you trust that it’s a certain gender! Mothers intuition! Congratulations and if your second little boy is anything like your first gorgeous little guy that’s a pretty amazing family you will have! X

Oh Aimee, it's okay to feel upset! I found out last night our second and final baby is another boy and I'm definitely a little disappointed. Not that I don't love having sons but it is a definitely a mini grief process knowing you won't be a girl mum! Allow yourself to process it fully and be kind to yourself ❤

Amy, you handled this so so well ❤️ My total respect and hats off to you. I know I would be the same (or probably crying even more!) in this situation, people say “gender doesn’t matter it’s still a baby” but I disagree because you find out it’s one gender and then you have your hopes and dreams pinned onto that, especially as a woman being able to raise a daughter is totally different (I have a boy and I love him to absolute bits but can’t lie and say I wouldn’t love to have a daughter in the future) xx

Aww hun. I understand the emotions. I think your reaction is very normal. You imagine who your baby is going to be and then learning it’s a different gender changes that. I was told in my 11 week appointment that we were having a girl based on the chromosome test and a minute later, my dr went oh no wait, it’s a boy. I got the XY / XX mixed up. 🤦🏼‍♀️ Sending love to you and your baby, whoever he or she turns out to be. 💜

Awww! I remember the tears of finding out we were having a boy when I really thought we were having a girl! But 2 years later, two boys is SO fun. But I definitely see where you’re coming from when they tell you one and then it’s another and you’ve already told people and they were so excited for that gender. You never want disappointment from some else. I never want to say it’s a boy! And they say, oh... ok. Big hugs! X

Aww sending love. Don’t let anyone tell you you’re not allowed to be upset ! When I found out my second and last baby was another boy I cried for 2 weeks, I even went to the extent of saying ‘I’m a good person why would this happen to me’ 😂😂 but it’s all just pregnancy hormones and you will look back and have a good laugh about it all one day. I absolutely love having 2 boys and now I couldn’t even imagine myself with a girl ❤️

When we found out we were having another girl, I cried because I really wanted a boy - mainly because my husbands family is all girls. It has taken me months to come to terms with another girl (because it will be our last baby as well) so hun I can totally relate. Good things....you save a shitload of money not having to buy a whole lot of new clothes 👌 We also had an amazing name for a boy we will never have - big hugs to you both!

The emotions you are feeling are completely normal and I think it is good that you vlogged it all because it may help other people who face the same situation. You experienced a loss and it is okay to grieve that loss. Obviously it isn’t a loss in the traditional way we all think of loss but it is still a loss nonetheless. ❤️

I'm sorry to hear. It is definitely best to wait until 20 weeks for the best accuracy. I am so glad that the baby is healthy above all. You never know, maybe when this baby is a couple years old you may want to have one more. Hahaha I know that three is my maximum when I decide to start having kids one day lol. The same thing happened to us with our first child. The dr was adamant we were having a girl because of the heart rate. So we picked out name etc and in the 20 week scan we could clearly see he was a boy! It was upsetting and shocking. But we're glad he was healthy. Totally understand how you are feeling x

Dannielle Wojcik I haven’t seen that doctor since we were told we were actually having a boy. I don’t know how I actually feel about returning to see him next week. But this will be my last time as I’m moving to a midwife for the rest of my pregnancy.

Oh Aimee! 3 is great. I had two boys and then a girl, and we weren’t sure if we should go for number 3, but we did. And I love that my two eldest boys are best friends, and my girl hangs with me. You’re going to love having brothers, and if you want to try for a girl, that will be great too!!!! 😘

Your partner is so sweet and supportive, you two will get through anything. Boys are great, I’m pregnant with my second boy too, due next month! At first I was disappointed too I think as women we all desire a girl. But god has given you boys for a reason, probably coz they are going to be amazing men that make a difference and we need more of that 😘

Yes I find it strange that any doctor these days would announce the gender at 12 weeks based on heartbeats etc, as it is known that heartbeats cannot determine gender, only a Harmony DNA test can.

the harmony test can be wrong too i know a few people that it was wrong. it wasnt anything to do with the heartbeat that told us baby was a girl. we had a private scan done

@@AimeeLeighx I dont think we have a harmony scan here. They only do an ultrasound at 20 weeks to tell the Gender of the baby. They do it at 20 because it's to hard to see at 11 or 12 weeks the baby isn't developed enough at 11 or 12 weeks .

My family has a tradition of not finding out until its born. We love our greens and yellows. I don't think I could be patient though I think I'll find out and only tell my parents and partners parents. Was so excited when you said it was a girl but glad to have another Freddie running around

I’m surprised anyone told you the gender before 20 weeks 🤔 I asked at 17 weeks and they said it was against policy haha! Every place is different but it’s probably a good thing to avoid confusion/ disappointment 😬

It happens a lot . When I was a photographer a lot of my clients were told they were having girls and they ended with boys ... and some not until they were born so at least it’s good you know before then :) it’s tough but in the early days boys can look like girl parts until they develop further . I would of swore Joseph was a girl during our early scans it wasn’t until later he developed clearly !!! .... now he’s 8 and theirs no denying he’s a boy lol lol lol lol

Being a mum I totally understand how you are feeling we have never had the sex of our babies being wrong but still understand.. congratulations and best news to hear is knowing Bub is doing well.. maybe get another scan again in a few wks times.. maybe look at getting a 3/4D scan

Aw that would be a shock. I'm so sorry that happened to you. The most important thing is that your baby is healthy and I'm glad everything else is okay. You never know, you may one day have a girl. Two boys are fun. I turn 30-years-old in August and my husband and I have been married nearly six years and together for almost ten years. We have two sons and we just had our third and final baby, a girl. Our oldest is our son Arthur, he was born at 41 weeks and he was almost 9 pounds lol. He is four and will be turning 5 on September 1st. Our second child is our son Jackson who turned three on March 16th. Both our boys are healthy and happy and they're like best friends together. After we had our two boys we thought we were done, and then about a year ago we decided to start trying for one more lol. On July 2nd, 2019 at 39 weeks I had our daughter Paige. She was 8 pounds approximately and just perfect. She is nearly two weeks old so still extremely young, but she is healthy and doing perfectly fine. :) There definitely will not be a fourth I can guarantee that lol. I'm getting the Mirena IUD put in when Paige is six weeks and I think my husband is considering getting the snip in the future. What name did you have picked out for a girl? Xx

In the states they don't tell you the sex of baby until 18-20 weeks via ultrasound. You can have the blood test at 10 weeks. #youreagreatboymom

I'm also pregnunt and I'm going to see the gender at 21 weeks. Hopefully, then I can see it better. I have a feeling it's a girl but my mom sais it's a boy and there was a doctor that just from the heartbeat said it might be a boy. I really don't care what it is and will cry whatever the gender but I want to put my husband's mother name on our first daughter (she passed) and I think everyone would love that. But if it's a boy it's going to be the name of my husband and since we started dating and thinking about babies that I thought my first kid would be a boy. Whatever is great (I didn't even want to know but my husband does) if it's healthy I'm happy but if it's a girl I will be a bit more excited =) I totally understand the reaction it's just thinking something and then the change. I would feel the same. Hope the rest of your pregnancy goes smoothly

Oh shit! Was the first Dr 100%? Totally understand it being a shock after you’ve been thinking you were having one over the other. If the first Dr wasn’t 100% they should have said they weren’t certain. You definitely need to tell that first Dr that he told you the wrong sex. What a shock you poor buggers. Anywho bubba is healthy and growing boy or girl the baby snuggles are all the same 😘😘

Jeez !! I have went for a private gender scan at 18 weeks and have the gender but also going to my 20 week scan at end of month then announcing incase 🤔🤔 I would be so mad if my doctor done that xx
