Probationary IAS officer Puja Khedkar is in the news after being transferred from Pune for alleged misuse of power. The controversy has led to the uncovering of details about her attempts at the civil services exam, revealing that she claimed to be visually impaired and mentally ill in the affidavit submitted to the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). The disabilities mentioned by Khedkar were used to receive special concessions during her UPSC selection. Despite her low examination marks, these concessions made it possible for her to clear the exams, and she secured an All India Rank (AIR) of 821. She cleared IAS on OBC Non-Creamy Layer Quota & Showed her parental income upto ₹8 Lakh. However, Her father Dilip fought LS Polls on VBA Ticket, his affidavit shows assets worth ₹40 Crore & ₹48 Lakh annual income.

We the people can remove corrupt incompetent politicians through democratic elections. But corrupt incompetent UPSC officers cannot be removed and have lack of accountability to the public.

It clearly question the system and integrity of UPSC exam not on her. With so much of flaws how she was selected on the 1st place. If she has failed or refused to appear for medical exam then she should have not been selected. There is a laxative in selecting committee. She is not the 1st nor the last for sure. What tension are you talking about lol? A typical officer in my state, the most tension I have seen them experience is making public speeches at inaugurations and parties. Most of them have no clue or intention on how to efficiently administer a district/city. I am from Kerala Kannur district. In kerala my family only owns 10 cents of land and a house of 800 sqft.. Thats the reason we are not included in the EWS central list.. Anywhere in India if a starved citizen has a 5 cent and a shed in it.. He won't come in the list.. Even the officials make us fun claiming that no one in my state get into this list as government in kerala is giving atleast one house and 5cent of land through home schemes..Sad to see these realities😢

They will claim that their high income is from agriculture, which is not taxable, allowing them to justify their qualification for OBC non-creamy layer status despite an annual income of ₹40 crore. Regarding the fake medical test, it is more an issue with the doctor and the officers who verified her eligibility.

Similar Backdoor entry case in King George medical University Lucknow. Dr Jinny Rani, MBBS 2010, KGMU , secured MBBS seat on basis of Fake Physical disability certificate. She even secured seat in AIIMS Delhi later(they too couldnot verify ;-( ). Everybody in her MBBS 2010 KGMC batch knows about this fact that she is not handicapped.
