It is a good thing that UK is out of EU. Now you don’t have a US proxy in EU to influence policies.

That might be a good point that UK might influence EU for US if there wasn't a Brexit. John did a pretty good explanation why Johnson was so anti China. I just can't believe UK is really a vassal of US. This video also clarify a lot with what's happening in Meng's extradition in Canada. Now I know why Trudeau is behaving like a puppet to US and why he refuses to step in to release Meng.

I think it is the UK that needs to decide for itself who it wants to trade with and to prosper with. You have freed yourself from the ‘shackles’ of the EU but do you now want to be shackled by the US?

If the US has to work THIS hard just to contain the PRC on its traditional home turf (EU & LATAM), then its hegemony is already crumbling, & the end of US hegemony can't come too soon for the world, & even for the average American people themselves.

John is here to market Britain to China as China's friendly economic partner as he knew UK is in deep deep deep shit! Britain's hope of securing an FTA with the US is diminished and Britain needs an FTA with China to increase Britain's leverage with Britain's negotiation with EU on the Brexit. This talk was in 2019 and unfortunately, Boris Johnson had screwed up further by banning Huawei from Britain's 5G infrastructure. John's effort is going to be wasted. John is the economic advisor to Ken Livingstone when Ken was Mayor of London and John is also eyeing on the offshore RMB market for London and he is here to do damage control so that it will give London a big piece of the RMB cake in future. It is so obvious that RMB is the near future major global reserve currency overtaking the greenbacks in within the next ten years. There is no stopping of the decline of the greenbacks with US money printing habits and shrinking economic power. I still think this is a very good talk which clearly explain the political situation between US, China, UK, Germany & EU.

I watched this entire episode very carefully. Although the content indicates that this lecture was given in 2019, it is still very informative and educational today near the end of 2020. Few domestic media in China have analyzed the behaviour of Trump administration on such a global and comprehensive basis. In summary, this episode is a very reasonable interpretation of Trump's motives.

UK was the mother of United States. The child has kicked the mother in the groin, not just once during The Independence War, and now again decades later. UK is done, a vassal state. Germany is very strategic, they know that only by not taking sides, they can remain strong. Although Brexit has happened, the fact remains that UK still depends on EU for much of its trade. In the long term, US may have won a political pawn in UK, but economically it will still lose. The pieces have being set on the board long ago as one can see, the Belt and Road map does not show that it includes North, South American continents. Any areas that decides to join the Belt and Road when they are not even on the map is simply going to be a bonus.

You think the UK is so indispensable to the EU? And when the UK find it not viable later, you think EU will take them back? The train has left the station! Besides, Scotland may breakaway from the UK because they wanted to be member of the EU. So what happens in the end is not just the breaking up of the UK, but England and what's left of the UK may become irrelevant when they are failing. Boris should not be as stupid as Trudeau. If Boris enters into an agreement with US like NAFTA, literally UK will be at the mercy of the US; it would be worst than being under the EU. From around 8:00 to 10:00, it goes something like this: "Conservative party got over 40% vote." and "With 40% vote you can be elected as a government of the country (Britain), but the Brexit party led by Farage got 30% vote on European election, and Tory party got 9% of the vote. In other words, Brexit party can destroy the votes of conservative party." How does the European election affect the election on internal UK's election? How can Farage remove an elected Prime minister from power? It is so confusing to understand.

This is President Trumps view on Brexit, my understanding is the general political US view was always that they liked the UK being in the EU as it gave them more influence and meant it was more US centric. Osbourne and Cameron had the wise support of the Queen and Theresa May is firmly British. Boris is Sooo - oh oh dear... Such a lapdog with no foresight? I knew there's a struggle Inn the UK... which leader would even want to be associated with the post election truth of what Trump is about? Is such a shame that after Xi visit, the UK had a no. 1 place to cooperate closely with China. Cameron had left the UK with some great - getting the membership for the AIIB. India? Have you really had a look into the negligence, dirt and shocking lack of sanitation and help for the poor? We should get Cameron and Osborne back into running the government.

The whole point is that the US has a currency problem since early 2000 already !! ... First the US was very much in favour of the creation of the European Union simply because of the currency change to the Euro which artificially strengthened the USD, besides that it would have a voice in establishing the rules between European Union and the US. Now the USD is under a lot of pressure because of all the bubbles created in the housing, technology, banking, import/export markets in the US and the fierce competition of China as a global independent player !! To get out of trouble it needs countries to leave the EU but without weakening the Euro which will devalue the USD directly as a result. Brexit was a good move for the US because Britain wasn't part of the European monetary system, but only if Britain decides to be on the side of the US. The US would need Germany as well to surpass the economic power of China, but if Germany leaves the EU it will weaken the Dollar significantly. The only out for the US is HOPE !! Hope that after Brexit other countries will follow suit and the EU will be dismantled and that countries like Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, France will chose sides in its favour !! If this cenário would become reality I'm not so sure if these countries will choose the US in a free trading market, and maybe they shouldn't !!

Tighten your bonds economically with China and the US will start shitting it's trousers !!

Brexit was an absolutely necessary evil ... It'll impact as much the US as China ... You'll just have to choose which is the one to bear the brunt !! If I were to make that choice it would be a simple choice, things have to move forward by itself and not being carried on artificially, so I'd choose to be free from the US influences in the internal affairs and strengthen the bond with China significantly which would not only be self serving but opening many opportunities for other developing countries especially in South America.
