I've not heard of putting a YO in the row below a M1 to give room for the extra new stitch. Sounds like a good idea that I should try. Thanks!

I’m curious about the k1 YO p1 / p1 YO k1 concept. When would that happen? I’ve never seen it and wonder what circumstances would call for that.

You can see it in lace stitch patterns, where there is a purl column of stitches and you have a yarnover on either side.

That was very interesting !! Thought never occured to me , doing a YO and having that nice bar waiting for you to twist . Especially for those tight knitters, I might be one. (there is a joke in there some place about ...........you know you are a tight knitter when............. you can hear the loops screaming as you drag them up the needle? ) :)
