In the comics, Viktor Timely is Kang the Conqueror in disguise- not a variant, but the main Kang who went back in time to the 19th century because he realised he can defeat the Avengers by manipulating events before they were born. So that might be what we're seeing here.

The He who remains variant was not from the 31st century and the one shown there is actually his past. He was born in a different time period (mid-late 1800s). Most victor variants in this era do not discover multiversal travel except for the one shown in the show whom was given the knowledge to do so by a plan created by his future self so he may become the next he who remains and basically be infinitely reincarnated. Edit: until Loki stops that cycle.

Sylvie killed the one and only good kang in the marvel universe , even though he was very in control of the single timeline we know and free will is non existent, at least he wasn’t evil like other variants. Stop making such bs theories. First of all he who remains never expected anything from Loki and Sylvie, after crossing the threshold he himself didn't know what was about to happen and he was too bored anyway so he was just passing on the duties of a multiversal god. And secondly, what you said is not how time travel works in the MCU, killing Victor Timely at that point of time will only branch out to a timeline where Victor Timely doesn't exist but the original timeline where he will continue to live will still exist. The same reason why killing baby Thanos will not get rid of the original Thanos in the Endgame. The same reason Loki was caught by TVA so that branching doesn't happen. So the only logic which they have established is not just killing the being but pruning the entire timeline at the exact moment when it created an another timeline in order to stop the branching out entirely and hence that variant will cease to exist.

That is NOT the same variant. As He Who Remains outright states, several variants of Kang discovered the possibility of time travel over several different time periods. They also met and traded knowledge and technologies. Victor Timely is in no way the 31st century variant of Nathaniel, and that I'll maintain.

They keep saying 31st century because the kid who was given the tva guidebook in the show is a plant. A variant who was moved there with the restrictions of technology. the true victor timely is from the 31st century and as a failsafe took and placed a variant where he did in the show as a backup. Thats also why miss minutes knew to go to the backup plan which is a kang variant that was displaced through time. In the current timeline there will always be a victor timely/ nathanial richards/ kangs variants. He who remains took the variant from the time he would of grew in to the could not recognize his potential. Also eliminating the threat of a kang rising and causing problems in the sacred timeline. while everyone was playing checkers with their lives, he was playing chess
