Can we just take a moment to appreciate the love that Agustin has for his daughters and how it is shown in even the little details? I loved when he stood up to Abuela when she was wanting him to share information to protect the family and he was all, "I was protecting my DAUGHTER." He is so amazing.

Fun Fact: In Encanto when Camilio says “seven foot frame” it a reference to the painting that Bruno was hiding behind

Another fact: Dolores only covers her ears when there is loud noise. Like the fireworks and the thundering. Edit: 2 reasons why Dolores could hear Bruno and knew he never left. Reason 1: she can obviously hear everything. And reason 2: Her room/door is right beside Bruno's secret place he's hiding at.

Anyone notice that Dolores always talks quietly until Mirable put the door knob in the casita? She started talking more loud and proud.

The pattern on Luisa's dress isn't unique to just her. Each family member has a pattern on their clothing to represent their "gift". Luisa - barbells Isabela - flowers Dolores - sound waves Camilo - chameleons Julieta - mixing bowl on chest, hand with palm up towards wheat and what might be hearts on the pockets Pepa - sun earrings, sun neckline, lightening bolt hem, subtle rain drops on dress Bruno - hour glasses Antonio - animals on vest, striped shirt to represent the stripes on animals Abuela & Mirabel - butterflies that represent change and also tie them each to the casita, the miracle, and each other through the symbolism of the butterfly

And I have another one! In the scene where Mirabel and Bruno are talking about how his vision can save the family, notice how they’re talking right outside of Dolores’ room, once again proving that she was always able to hear Bruno.

When Camilo is shifted into Dolores, Alma says "Camilo, stop pretending to be Dolores so that you can get seconds!" Dolores always gets seconds because she knows Bruno is there, the seconds are for him!

Actually, according to the art book, Pedro (then called Pablo) died in 1900 (during La guerra de los mil días), and later Alma says that it was 50 years ago. They are in the 1950's, according to the makers of the movie, they visited small villages that looked like they were 100 years ago, so they decided to use that to make it timeless. The references are just references, they are just anachronic and maybe explained by Bruno's powers (even if the music doens't make sense, since his visions are visual)

Another amazing little detail is the number 3 appearing so many times in the movie. Abuela has three kids, Pepa, Julietta, and Bruno. Pepa and Julietta had each three kids as well. I doubt this is just a coincidence, and maybe it was put on purpose.

Pepa’s side of the family wear’s warm colors while Juielita’s side has cool colors 🤷‍♀️

If you look closely on mirabel's dress, you will see the candle which represent abuela, a rainbow for Tia pepa and more things for her family showing her love. She also has many butterfly as the movie also has many butterfly. You will see that everyone exept mirabel have something on there dress which represent their gift. Like Tia pepa has the sun earings , Isabella has flowers, luisa has the weights on her skirt but mirabel doesn't has a gift so she has many things on her representing her family or else she must have something that should represent her gift.

Did you notice that when Augestein is playing the piano, Luisa is looking stressed out. Later, we find out that she would have felt weak right before that!

Kids: This is Mexico Everybody else: It’s Colombia

Actually, the movie is very subtle but it's very specific when it's set. The violence that Alma and Pedro were fleeing was the Colombian civil war of 1939. Presumably they were a few years into the fighting before their town got raided, and the film takes place 50 years after - plenty of time for the triplets to grow up. Therefore the movie takes place anywhere from 1989-1991.

Another thing: In “we don’t talk about Bruno” during the mashup dinner scene, while everyone is setting the table mirabel is actually spotted on the right side walking by, checking her purse, then walking away in the doorway

“Name one thing we didn’t notice in Encanto that is not in this video.” When Bruno knocks on wood, he is trying to prevent his bad predictions about the future. Example: “I predict that bad things will happen to Cecilia (one of the kid audiences in The Family Madrigal). So he knocks on wood for hoping that his bad predictions will not happen.

Y’all ever notice that when Dolores is singing during the “We don’t talk about Bruno” song, you can see bruno in the background walking on the second story. He even starts bobbing his head during the last two lines of her verse.

Also in Dolores' solo part in "We Don't Talk About Bruno", Bruno was literally vibin' on the upperfloor.

I just got to say that it is not some time after 1988 when we learn about Abela's origins what happens was based on a real event in Columbia called the thousand days war which happened in 1899 and by then Abuela had her children which are 50 years old during the movie so if you add 50 to 1899 you get 1949 when the movie takes place

Wait a minute…but did you catch *this* about Encanto? Of course Bruno’s acting out a World Cup from the 90s, and of course he’s acting out a telenovela. It’s because he can see into the future. He’s acting out things that are in the distant future. The very distant future, since Encanto takes place in a time where folks don’t have TVs (or telenovelas) and they don’t have radios.

another kind of hidden secret: when dolores was singing her part in "we dont talk about bruno" she says the line "i can always sort of hear him muttering and mumbling" because bruno lives in the walls of the house

1:50 Well, seeing that Abuelo was killed by soldiers in the flashback, we know that the past was set during a civil war (which, knowing Colombia, doesn't narrow it down). However, going by their ages and the song, we know that it either takes after La Violencia (1903-1958) or Conflicto armado interno de Colombia (1960-present). Seeing as Abuela looked to be around the early to late 20s (maybe late teens, since marrying early was/is a thing), it would be a max of a 50-year time skip. My guess is she had the kids are around 19-21, which is when she and Abuelo fled from the soldiers and got the miracle.

By the way, in the scene where Antonio's ceremony takes place, everyone is clapping but if you look closely to Dolores she's actually clapping with her fingers because it might be too loud for her.

Actually if you notice, all the characters have their powers shown in their dress. Pepa : Sunlight earrings Mirabel's mom : There is that embroidery on her dress which shows the thing that was used for making medicines or something Luisa : The weight shaped figures Isabella: The roses Camilo: Chameleon designs on his clothes Dolores: Design of sound waves on her clothes Antonio: Has animal designs on his clothes. Bruno: The design which is like the falling sand design showing the time and vision.

Did you know why isabella looks so amazed when she saw the cactus for the first time? And she calls that cactus with 'it's not simetrical and perfect' 'something sharp, something new'. Because she has been live for her entire life in the encanto. So, he never saw the dessert that usually has a single cactus. :)

Yea something cool about the Luisa fact, is that it’s also on dolores‘s dress if you can spot it there are sound waves on her dress

On the song, "we don't talk about Bruno" Dolores ( the girl with good hearing ) said in the song " I can always hear him sort of muttering and mumbling " and Dolores is talking about the guy, Bruno! So it means Dolores knew the whole time that Bruno was there, hiding the whole time but never said Bruno was there!

Ok I have a theory… So when mirabel touched the candle at her ceremony she wiped her hand on her clothing INSTEAD of touching the door straightaway like Antonio did in his ceremony. I think that instead of transferring the magic of the candle to the door which then decides her gift she transferred the magic to herself. So by touching her clothing after touching the candle she has now transferred the magic to herself making her the deciding factor towards her gift unlike the rest of the family who have their special rooms designed toward helping them utilise their gifts. This can also link to the fact that mirabel decided that she was going to save the casita therefore deciding her fate making herself the gift, I hope that makes some sense lol….😂 Thoughts??

In song "We don't talk about Bruno" when Camilo sings "Seven foot frame" he transforms into over exaggerated 7 foot tall Bruno. Right after that he transforms into normal sized Bruno, to match his actual height. Very cool detail

Did no one notice the blue glowing things on mirabel's dress they probably represent the broken pieces of bruno's vision. There is also a candle, a fist which probably represents luisa's gift. There also animals representing Antonio's gift and not only pink and purple flowers probably representing Isabella's gift but different types of plants. At the end of the movie we get to know that Isabella cannot only grow flowers but also different types of plants. I haven't spotted them all but I think there are many icons representing each family members gift.I also noticed there is a scene from what else can I do on mirabels dress

Actually everyone that has a gift also have patterns on their clothing that matches their gift Isabella with flowers Luisa with dumbbells, Camilo with chameleons, Pepa with raindrops and other weather symbols, Juliet a with herbs and stuff, Dolores with I FORGOT And Antonio doesn’t yet bc he just got his gift so no “special” clothing is made for him yet. As for Mirabel? There were mostly flowers on her dress but there’s an obvious butterfly too. And what did EVERYONE’S DOOR AND THE CANDLE have on it? A BUTTERFLY! hence, I believe that Mirabel didn’t get a gift bc she was meant to be the next candle holder.
