When Preach spoke on Diddy's son being aware of her abuse, I understood. In certain households, some children can be alerted to mistreatment but their minds will filter out the darkness and continue to exist around it. They know something's afoot but they have no authority or power to question it, much less speak up about it directly. In many cases, some kids speak to another relative if they see something and want it to change. Or, they pray the tormentor that their related to (blood or not), will eventually regress and erode these actions and behaviors.

Just because something is normal that doesn't mean its healthy.

I also work in social services and confirm that kids that have seen and experience abuse can think it’s normal family dynamic until they meet other normal functioning families

I always wonder how a grown person can be controlled by another. I can never understand how can someone stays even after an abuse? Only until I've been thru it i believe it is real.
