Aircode gives new dimension to didgeridoo playing as it totally changes the sound, acoustics of the instrument. However, it is very easy to learn as it is based on "normal" didgeridoo playing. The only change we need to learn is when to disconnect and connect to mouthpiece to get this intriguing change. This video presents two basic sounds, how to get them and some more advanced variations.

Your playing is always inspiring Du. And your tone is extremely precise and clear. I love that it never becomes muddy

Thank you for this comment! It took quite a lot of conscious energy investment to clear up the sound as much as possible. Now it is just natural.

Great lessons, thank you so much! Could I ask if you would be able to explain the AirChord further if possible? is it just a pu-pa movement with the lips (pu=out pa=in)? I'm finding it hard to get the volume and resonant tone which you get in the video...

Last year in a workshop, the "teacher" showed us the MaPa sound. I have the impression the airchord is actually the same sound. Is it correct? MaPa are 2 sounds that are neutral, meaning that we can inhale or exhale on it, unlike Ta or Ka, which are exhaling sounds. Right?This is extremely helpful because it gives a better understanding. Thank you, master Du!

Thanks for the tutorial! I have a question concerning breathing. I am trying to play "tawaka" with aircord. If I breath in on the "wa" after some time I am full of air and have to take a break. The other option I tried is to breath one time in and one time out. That works better. When and how would you suggest to breath? Much love ❤

That is a GREAT question! To answer it, I had to try it myself. I use the same technique like you, breathing on the wa, I only breathe out less, once in four breaths. You can choose to skip the breath as well, or just breathe very little. Other way to balance out would be to push the Ta more, but that creates a different sound.

The only thing I dont like is the tiny mouth piece I play in 33x35 mm could be posible to play air code??? Also what characteristics need on didge to play?
@DuendeDidgeridoo
@DuendeDidgeridoo 6 жыл бұрын
The size of the mouthpiece is not so important. The one in the video is around 31mm, sometimes I use 33 for very similar didge. So it is not so different from yours. If you hear the sustain, it is good.. if you don't... either you or the didge is not doing their job... ;-)

@@JammTj664 Here you caught my attension: HOW you decide the tone of the didge???? I dont get it ! I se some didges are sold as "untuned", others in a specific tone: But how can the maker Control that ????.
