Chorus Tell me, didn't it rain, rain, rain children Rain all the time, didn't it (yes) Didn't it (you know it did) Didn't it oh, my Lord, didn't it rain Repeat Chorus Verse 1 Well stop still, listen to me, God walked down by the briney sea He beheld the evil of sinful man, Declared that He would destroy the land Well he spoke to Noah, Noah stopped, He said, "Listen here Noah, build an ark, I want you to build it big and strong, Build it three hundred cubits long. Thirty high and fifty wide, I want it to stand by the rain and tide." Repeat Chorus Verse 2 Well after God told him what to do, Brother Noah began to cut and hue Well the ring of the hammer was judgment, The ring of the saw cried, "Sinner repent." Well a hundred years he hammered and sawed, Building the ark by the grace of God Now after the foundation was laid, Hued the timber, ark was made Well he called in the animals two by two, There was the ox, the camel and the kangaroo Well he called in Japeth, Sham and Ham, And God began to flood the land Well he raised up his hands to the heavens on high Knocked the sun and moon from the sky Shook the mountains, stirred the sea, Hitched the wind to his chariot wheel Well he stood on land, stepped on board, And cried that time would be no more Bridge Well I know it rained, you know it rained Hard rain, cold rain, rained all day Rained all night, there was not land nowhere in sight Well rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, Rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, Rain, rain go away, come again some other day Repeat chorus Didn't it rain!

Look into Hugh Laurie's version. of this. It is similar, except the words are again different. It is the most similar to this. I bought 2 copies of this piece but they are very different from each other and from this version. I too wish I had this version.

My nephew Luke Ahlemann wrote Didn't It Rain. The flood of Noah was a supernatural miracle which he admired. Luke wrote Didn't It Rain on his third birthday (October 19, 1998).
