I have about 900 miles on my transalp and the only issue ive had so far is around 500 miles my water pump started to leak to a drip very slowly and you would see it coming out of the small weep hole on the clutch side of the front of the engine where the thermostat housing is and it would drip down on to my skid plate. I had it replaced just recently under warranty and they had to replace the water pump assembly that includes the side cover of the engine. Besides that i have not had any other issues so far. So after you take your bike out for a good ride and its nice and hot check the weep hole to see if it is wet.

Thanks for the heads up. I will keep an eye out for that, I have not noticed anything weeping there but will take a closer look. I will soon be doing a likes / dislike review video so stay tuned. There will be a full video on all the modifications I have done coming up also. Thanks for watching.

Extremely well done. Probably your best video to date. Great editing, great trail skills. I'm amazed that big bike handles so well in there.

Always enjoy the lush greenery in your area and access to adventurous roads, this road seemed more challenging, well done. My 24 Transalp shifts fine, except when my execution wasn't more deliberate. Wearing bulky boots became easier once I raised the shift linkage one spline adjustment allowing more space & comfort. Quick shifter works well, don't use it very often unless accelerating hard in a hurry.

I have adjusted the shifting lever a number of times but still having an issue. I have made one more adjustment hopefully this is the one!

Nice ride! As I commented on another video, I've only done trails like that on my old XT250, which I just sold today. Not sure I'll get to the point where I'll take my Transalp down those trails. I'm short for the bike, with a 30-inch inseam, so I have nowhere near the confidence I had on the XT. Are you running the stock footpegs? Asking because I notice you're standing through the technical bits. Also, are you running stock height, and can you flat-foot the bike? As for shifting, the only issue I've had is when coming to a stop. I've sometimes had difficulty getting it into first, especially if I neglected to downshift as I came to the stop. So, if I'm in 3rd or higher, dead stop, and I try to shift back to 1st, it gets hung up sometimes, and I have to roll it to get it to shift.

Thanks again for the comment and watching. The pegs and height are stock. I cannot flat foot, but enough of both feet down to feel comfortable (32" inseam) I have since found out what the issue with the shift was. Turned out to me the boots (Alpinstar Tech3) I was wearing. I guess they restricted my movement enough that I could not shift effectively. If I wear a hiking boot I can shift fine. I talk more about it in my video this coming Sunday 2024.07.21. If you have not already please consider subscribing and feel free to reach out if you have any other questions.

Hey Fellow maritimer! Took the Transalp for a trip last week. Drove from the outskirts of Saint John, NB to Halifax and back. I've got around 2800 Kms so far and have not had the no shift issue. Let us know what the dealer finds. Found the bike to struggle in winds above 35KM/hr especially going through the NS/NB border. Had to keep a good lean to keep a 90Km/hr speed. Also fuel mileage was awful, averaging 7 l/100KM. I typically get 5 l/100Km on a calm day. Other than that, I'm happy with the bike!!

Since this video I have discovered that the problems I have been having shifting are due to the boots I wear. I will have more about this in up coming videos.

I am not all that impressed with the quick shifter but no problems with the shifting. I do have a stumble in low RPMs, the fueling is not great. Have you experienced that.

I have not noticed that too much. I have found the traction control to be completely useless though. If you are on any rough surface at all the traction control will kick in. Even going over bumps will trigger traction control.
