We flew from Alberta Canada, to watch the solar eclipse near Burnet, Texas! It was totally worth it! You cannot really describe it in words! Our Creator God is amazing!!! We listened to the crickets, watched the shadow of my son's hand be fuzzy on one side, then be sharp as can be on the other side ( you have to google it to see what I mean!), and to see the stars and planets and solar flares from the sun! When the sky went black it was incredible! It was a rush, and we are so blessed to have experienced it! Our God is powerful!!!

I watched a total eclipse in the UK in 1999. A friend held a garden party so we could watch it together. Like you, Granger, I thought 'what's the big deal' but it'll be nice to spend the afternoon with friends and neighbours. When the sky started to darken and then went pitch black it was so awesome. Everything and everyone went silent. How great is our God.

I was in Albany, NY where it was 80% totality. I was able to see it until it was like a sliver. The temps did drop, but it did not get dark out. Dark enough for streetlights & headlights to turn on. Syracuse, NY’s Rosamond Gifford Zoo has 1 yr old twin Elephant calves. They were out with the herd during this & at 100% totality when it did get dark, the herd pulled the twins into them & formed a circle around them for protection. It was really kool!

1979 was my senior year of high school. We were in Florida at Disney World on our senior trip when the total solar eclipse happened. It was wild. I will never forget it! There are some video's made yesterday at some of the zoos. The reactions of the animals were strange to say the least. Even some giant turtles were doing their best to run. Did ya'll notice if your chickens went to roost? Lots of folk's chickens did. The birds did too!

Your reaction is similar to mine in 2017. I was in Jamestown, Missouri hoping that the drive by myself from DFW was worth it. Not only was it worth it, I would've done that drive with traffic a million times over. Totality is such a beautiful, humbling, and indescribable experience. Like you said, you can't understand it until you've experienced it. I saw this eclipse as well and it was just as good as my first in 2017! No on to 2027 and 2028!! We had totality for an eclipse in 2017 in Oregon, but I ended up not being in the totality part and didn't go to it because of traffic! But it was still cool to see 90% of totality

Outside my house it went dark and it was eerie and completely silent. I am in southwestern Ontario in Canada it started at 2pm and hit totality at 3:15pm. All schools were given a PA day so no students were exposed to the eclipse since the high schools get out at 2:30 and the public schools get out between 3:15 and 3:30

I was blessed to experience a total eclipse in 2017 in Oregon! Just as Texas we had people world wide visiting. The view from the top of Three finger Jack in Bend was amazing. I believe if you want to see how beautiful it was you can find it on KZfaq. I’m so happy you were able to experience it. How great is our God to create the universe?

I read 2nd Corinthians 3 the morning of the eclipse! "We are not like Moses, who would put a veil over his face to keep the Israelites from gazing at it while the radiance was fading away.3:14But their minds were made dull, for to this day the same veil remains when the old covenant is read. It has not been removed, because only in Christ is it taken away.3:15Even to this day when Moses is read, a veil covers their hearts.3:16But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.3:17Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.3:18And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit. If Moses' face reflects God's glory, how much more will we reflect God"s glory through his Holy Spirit who now lives in US! Our God is an awesome God!
