“Didn’t your blood boil…” Jaishankar responds to Shashi Tharoor’s ‘cool a little bit’ advice

Жыл бұрынRecalling the incident of the Indian flag being torn down at the Indian HC in UK, Union External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar on May 07 in Mysuru connected the matter with Congress leaders Shashi Tharoor’s ‘cool a little bit’ remark and raised questions on accepting such incidents as an Indian. Further asking about such scenarios of country being insulted, the EAM said that he has a ‘thin skin’ and asked whether such matters ‘boils’ ones ‘blood’.
“If u saw it, didn't your blood boil (UK Khalistan incident), if someone insults your country. I absolutely have thin skin, we should all have thin skins,” Jaishankar said.
Tharoor’s ‘cool a little bit’ advice was on Jaishankar’s take over the West commenting on Rahul Gandhi’s LS disqualification.
Jaishankar on the other hand recalled the UK incident where the Indian flag was taken down by questionable group of an organisation at the Indian High Commission.

But, i commented about Shashi Tharoor's unwarranted remarks, Jai Shankar didn't even say something vulgar or inappropriate, Just saying bad habit is too much?? But the same tharoor keeps mum whenever West does propaganda against India, he opens his mouth only against colonial rule coz he thinks it's safer to talk about the past than the present...

@@Agnosticc I never said that jaishankar sir said anything remotely vulgar. But yes to paint them black and white just because they are from two rival political parties is wrong. Sashi tharoor did raise his voice against china(he agrees with jaishankar on that) . Read his book The great Indian novel and he has an equally interesting idea of india. But he has some points differently, nothing wrong or good in that.

I know that he's intellectual, I'm not calling him dumb but there r many intellectuals in India who have expertise in various subjects like history, geopolitics, defence etc. But Tharoor shines because of his English skills and his accent. I mentioned it because 90% people think one who speaks English is a genius. Anyway, this part is trivial, leave it. The main topic is, his unwarranted remarks, Jai Shankar has not used any vulgar or inappropriate words. Some people in comment section defending Shashi & blaming Jai Shankar as if he said something wrong. U r showing Sympathy for him because he has not got good position, is he a kid who has been kidnapped by Gandhis? If he doesn't have guts to come out of the party or rebel against his Gandhi bosses, it's his incapability. What can we do? He was a minister of state for external affairs and human resource development during UPA.

Tharoor had no problem serving under a subpar lady of Italian origin with no ties to India and its culture , who became the leader of the Congress party with a lot of power, by virtue of being the daughter-in-law of the powerful dynasty. How does one expect Tharoor's blood to boil? His blood is of a different kind it seems. My guess is individuals like Tharoor with an English education plus higher education from Institutions and job/career stint overseas, have an outlook too liberal to be patriotic unlike Modi and there are hindus in millions like him in India so no wonder he talks the way he does. I'm not sure if he received any special favor from the Gandhis like Natwar Singh did, which is precisely the reason why he is so attached to the Congress party and the dynasty.
