Recalling the incident of the Indian flag being torn down at the Indian HC in UK, Union External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar on May 07 in Mysuru connected the matter with Congress leaders Shashi Tharoor’s ‘cool a little bit’ remark and raised questions on accepting such incidents as an Indian. Further asking about such scenarios of country being insulted, the EAM said that he has a ‘thin skin’ and asked whether such matters ‘boils’ ones ‘blood’.
“If u saw it, didn't your blood boil (UK Khalistan incident), if someone insults your country. I absolutely have thin skin, we should all have thin skins,” Jaishankar said.
Tharoor’s ‘cool a little bit’ advice was on Jaishankar’s take over the West commenting on Rahul Gandhi’s LS disqualification.
Jaishankar on the other hand recalled the UK incident where the Indian flag was taken down by questionable group of an organisation at the Indian High Commission.
