I mean houses in Toronto are expensive, I bet alot of people working for the city don’t live in the city

Cops make good money. White people just have been moving out of the city.

Nope!! a lot of Toronto cops aren’t actually from Toronto. It’s not that lived here and move out. They were never from Toronto to beginning with. A lot them only come here for the job but most of them are from Small Town Canada. This has been going on for years and there was a story on this like 5 years ago. They don’t understand the cities culture and come to Toronto with their small town mentality and this is why you see some of the issues with them and certain community. Imagine coming from Timmins or Colbune and you’re now policing Rexdale and Jane and finch 🤔

It’s actually very dangerous for a cop to live in the same areas they police.

I was going to mention that. I worked with them for several years, and I’ve been told it’s a safety issue.

The irony of this is it’s apparently an intentional practice to keep police officers and their families safe….(my neighbour is a police officer)

Hmph... It's like those IG people saying they're from Toronto when they're actually not from Toronto but from places like Brampton, Vaughan, Markham, etc

My cousin who works with TPS told me 2 reasons why he doesn't live in Toronto. Reason 1 is because of police safety, he doesn't want to reside in the city he does police work because there's that off-chance he would be recognized from someone he encountered during his hours of operations. Reason 2, it's unaffordable despite his great salary. He'd need to save for so many years to make enough for a down payment for a home in Toronto. There's also legal fees you'd have to pay for when buying a home and the property tax too.

What's the cost of living in Toronto? What's the salary of a policeman in Toronto? I dunno...

After a few years on the job they make 100k a year. I think it's more to do with white flight.
@mikeyjames3 жыл бұрын
It’s not that. A lot them aren’t even from here. You guys are thinking that they’re from here but moved out because they can’t afford to live here but that’s not the case. They did a study on this years ago.. They’re not from Toronto but from small town Canada and get hired to work in Toronto so they don’t know the cities culture. Imagine growing up and living in places like Colburn and Timmins but policing Jane and Finch or Rexdale ? 🤔 It’s the same thing with Peel and York Region cops. they’re now policing Brampton that has a heavy Brown population but come from small town Canada where they never grew up around a large number of the people they police to have an understanding of the culture of that city 🤔 a lot of them come from areas where there’s no people of colour and they don’t know how deal with those people. A lot of them are raised in these places where they only know stereotypes of certain people of colour and this is why you see problems with how the police those communities they work in.

Where would they get money to raise a family in Toronto on their salary? In a 2 bedroom condo? Of course most of them don’t live in Toronto.

It is probably the same deal with Public School Teachers. They like a lot of people can't afford to own a home in Toronto and know the rent prices are a ripoff.

Toronto is still my home. Canada is my home. I’m always in Toronto too. I want to be where I can do the greatest good but also live where it’s reasonably peaceful. Lots of criminals that commit crimes in Toronto don’t live in Toronto. Lol.

Wow you’re really grasping at straws lol……. Maybe people have families and they can’t afford to live in the city and people aren’t allowed to commute??! You have to live exactly where you work?

The problem is, that they can act with impunity and not have to face their community. This invisibility breeds apathy towards the citizens of the communities they are supposed to be supporting. If you are a police officer in a city or community. You should be part of it, and held accountable from the people whom you live among. Policing a someone else's communities is a conflict of interest.
@caterinamoongirl3 жыл бұрын
I agree with his. It just makes sense. Why would people in a community want someone outside their community to police them?

Like the rest of commuters, cops don’t enjoy long trips to work. Who the hell wants an hour long drive to work? They moved to regions which are affordable, not sure how anyone could be blamed for that.

Yes my cousins are three of them. Maybe too many criminals. Heck anyone can sign up if you can do the training pass your schooling and above all have a clean sheet when they run the computer by your name. My cousins have university degrees in criminology.

I think you need to stop attacking Toronto Police officers; if you do not live in Toronto this video can be considered harassment and a disturbance of the peoples to whom the Toronto Police Services work to oversee. I hope you have a formal agreement to release such content; because if you’re attempting to become a newscaster; this content could be considered heresy and viable propaganda. Note: Response is not necessary; nor required. You are have created a wonderful channel and pose a beautiful personality so I hope you take care to ask permission to leak personal information about our officers. This is not taking sides it’s about displaying integrity in and within your occupation within journalism (should that be the cause).

That's why not one cop ever had a problem with stop n frisk. They know it's not their rights or the rights of family being violated.
