Wer mit dem Stichwort "Hausmusik" bisher nur Blockflötengewitter verband, muss schnell "Lieblingslieder" der Feuersteins hören, um auf ganz andere Gedanken und vor allem Gefühle zu kommen. "Oh Susanna" ist die versteckte Heldentat dieses Albums. Gitarren-, Banjo- und wer-weiß-was-Schüler kennen die Nummer in- und auswendig, aber trotzdem muss man sich fragen: Hat eigentlich irgendjemand diesem Song mal richtig zugehört? Guntmar Feuerstein hat, und zusammen mit den Töchtern schmettert er den Chorus, dass man fast den Schaukelstuhl auf den Holzdielen der Veranda knarzen hört.

Well done, my musical friends and German neighbors. You can play old American country classics so well. You even have instruments belonging to the country music history. Once the girl sits down behind the keyboard of an old harmonium like in a church and plays Oh Susanna, then a " Meisterstück " will be made. Keep up the good work and continue your work.

Sehr güt Klaus. Oi, when I was at Jordanville south state school in Melbourne Victoria, like 60 years ago, we learned songs like “on the road to Gundagai” & “wrap me up in my stockwhip & blanket, & bury me deep down below where the dingos & crows cannot get me, in the shade where the Coolibahs grow” also we were taught oh Suzanna, & oh Shenandoah, etc. & I can still remember & sing those songs today! I shudder to think what the kids are learning at primary school these days! 🦘💨💨💨
