I’ve never been successful at water propagating Dieffs, I always add a little rooting hormone and put it directly into soil, keeping it humid during the following weeks

I have been taking care of my dumb cane play for like 4 months and I wanted to ask that why is it that every time a new leaf starts popping above the plant the lowest leaf starts to turn pale yellow , it's like a mechanism 1 leaf keeps growing and the lowest one keeps dying , it's been 4 months and my dumbcane plant still has 4 leaves and this silsila is still going on can you explain what it is and why it is ???and whether it's normal ???

Since they didn't answer you, I will. It's likely a lack of nutrients. If you haven't already, I recommend adding in fertilizer.

I suggest to water it when totally dry soil with good drainage
