Había dejado el ordenador encendido, con la voz de Cécile McLorin, y a eso de las dos y media de la madrugada, un ritmo endiablado de guitarra me despertó. Diego Figueiredo interpretando Take Five. Me sorprendió ese toque que hacía vibrar las cuerdas hasta destilarlas en notas ínfimas al modo del cristal. Me remitió a tiempos lejanos y supe que siempre habría melodías renovadas por nuevas generaciones. Esto es lo esencial, el continuo rebrotar de la vida. «Cuando las ranas sueñan y la hierba ondula, los botones de oro agitan su cabeza y el calor viene a bañarse en los estanques y en los arroyos, es entonces que empieza el verano (Thoreau, Diario).

just goes to show that there are soooooooooo many guitar players out there that are far superior then the shit that is pushed on us my the main stream music industry. THAT WAS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!

Of course there are. Stop worrying about what’s popular. Be thankful that you can find artists like this and enjoy. Diego can find work in commercials, movies, tv etc. But the guys playing “popular” stuff are just lucky (money) to be where they are for the moment. They cannot play going the other way. Popularity on Top 40 radio isn’t a gauge of quality. It’s music created for kids, who lack sophistication. Many of them will eventually learn to appreciate more challenging art. If you’re not familiar with these two Brazilian guitarists: Bola Sete (7Ball) and Mateus Asato.

I have heard this song in many, many versions since I first heard it on Brubeck's "Time Out" album. I was about five or six, when my dad bought it (original pressing) and taught me how to use his turntable. It is a song that has been a part of my life for over fifty years, I have played it myself, I love this version.

One of the best improv ive never heard ...just incredible !!! this dude can do anything with his guitar 'N his chromatic licks are so bouncy ...wOoW m@n !!!!! the thing i love too is that his setup is so simple just a classical guitar + a PA system = ReaDy To Go ...No shredding bullshit $$$ crazy gears whatsoever ^-6 this is real music IMO

To the guys making the comment that reads 'It would be even better with a "real guitar" or a "real piano"': Please try and get over yourself and your ideals. Allow yourself to dive head-on into real talent! You're cheating yourself and spreading lies. It's not the instrument. It's what's played from the masters' hands! Pat Metheny navigates the most beat up guitars I've ever seen, yet he rocks every heart within earshot. It's his talent. Not his guitar. Now close your eyes and listen, dammit!
