Basically every attack on Maradona was attempted murder. Can you imagine him playing in today's game? He would either get 100 fouls in his favor or simply walk past the whole field. What an absolute majestic force on top of his creative genius and ultimate ball control. Simply the best of all time.

You underestimate the fact that in 35 years the level of tactical defending and players has gone up alot. The player pool today is larger and skill level has grown. Maradona was the legend of his era but he wouldnt do as well today.

You 2 are delusional if you think tackles were more brutal back then, look how Maradona could stand hours with the ball in place with nothing done, Maradona never shed a drop of blood like messi did many times, I watched both this and Messi's 2015/16 tournaments and Messi had more tackles and more highlights in a couple matches than Maradona's entire tournament stop pretending to be better than other people by preferring nostalgia, open your eyes for a moment and actually watch the game

Marco van Basten is one such player who had his career cut short from injuries...dont play [lay if you haven't experience those era's...

Rani Wishahy Everybody that knows football history disagree with you. There is no logic to what you are saying. Today the referees are much more skilled, VAR, the rules are changed to protects players etc. You cant deny facts. When I watch this video the touches Maradona shows satisfy me more then when I watch Messi play. Heck, just to see Maradona warm-up brings me more joy then if I watch Messi score a hattrick. You enjoy Messi, I dont mind. But dont deny facts.

Maradona's maturity in terms of the game was at its peak at this time.. He was at the arch of his prime. He could almost do anything with the ball.. There has not a been a player with that technique ever since... Maybe Ronaldinho or Bergkamp can be compared to him in terms of technique but still not better

Television often does not let you see his forward thinking. I got to see him play live and it was like he had eyes all around his head - quite incredible speed of his decision making and ability to read where his team mates were.

Maradona jugo la Copa America Brasil 89, con una lesion muscular, claramente excedido de peso, ademas lo molieron a patadas casi como en España 82, pero la magia estuvo intacta.. Diego es incomparable.

Maradona jugó con Kempes, Passarella, Ardiles, Villa, Bertoni, Burruchaga, Valdano, Ruggeri, Giusti, Redondo, Simeone, Batistuta, Canniggia, Balbo, todos monstruos... Argentina dejó de sacar jugadores como esos. Siempre tuvo un gran equipo a su lado. Messi jugó con Meza, Pavón, Rojo y Fazio en su equipo último mundial. Maradona en las eliminatorias y las copas americas nunca funcionó.
