Suarez to Atletico was the most INCH PERFECT move i hav seen in the last 3 seasons.He dosent press too often,so he can fit into Simeone's side easily.Atletico on the other hand lack in goals and Suarez can provide them loads of it!!!!

DIEGO SIMEONE IS ONE OF THE MOST UNDERRATED MANAGER IN FOOTBALL. He actually is competing in a league, dominiated by real and barca. He took them to finals and a league title during a period where barcelona and real madrid is dominating europe. No one says that much about him at all. I dont think ppl realize how long he has been in atletico and also. How many players he has developed and atletico had to sell. Still manage to bring up and manage new talent. Imagine if atletico kept some of their top players. They would of won at least one champion league final.

What I truly love about Simeone is his ability to adapt. I look at the team and tactics that he used in his first Championship, and then those that won in 20/21, and they look completely different! He knows better than most coaches I've ever seen how to win with what he has, rather than cry about what he hasn't.

What's sad is that Atletico as a whole have been immense, Simeone has ramped up the tactics to a tremendous level, yet a lot of people will simply put their La Liga win as simply down to the decline of Barcelona/Real and Suarez on his own + Bartomeu's incompetence. This is partially the case, but I'm afraid this'll be singled out as the cause of Atleti's rise to supremacy this year, when the whole team, not just Suarez, is in sublime form. I am a big fan of the overlapping CB tactic, as seen at Arsenal and Sheffield United (even if they go down they'll be back before long) and with Southgate implementing with the England national team (with varying success), Simeone has needed to change his approach for a while now so I'm not surprised he's mastered the tactic already!

In spite of calling him "defensive", I consider Simeone's Atletico very fun to watch tactically! The team has almost no weaknesses while defending, are very supportive and frustrate the opponent with ease. While attacking, they do seem a little bit more confusing, but are supported by a creative false 9/deep forward in Felix, combining it with Suarez opportunism

I've been looking forward to this. The fluidity of the front four along with multiple players with at least 10 goal contributions means that Atletico Madrid now combines their signature excellent defense with a far more potent attack. Getting Suarez on a free transfer was an incredible piece of business and Suarez has thrived in Atletico's system, especially with so much support up front.

Suarez is the best signing in la liga this year easily. Even players that were considered flops (Joao felix, lemar etc etc) are now shinning and accumulating assists and key passes thanks to suarez movement

Athleti always created chances but never had a world class elite striker to finish them off, they have that now. All those draws from last year have become wins.

I love this Simeone side. Certainly a great watch. I think we win La Liga and get to the Semi Finals of the Champions League!

Quite often Simeone shakes completely the match with the changes, even more impactful this season as LaLiga allows 5 changes. That, plus the flexibility of many players able to play in many different positions, makes the team quite adaptable to the specific match needs. The bench is a crucial asset to this team, and this season more than ever, it's differential. :)

So basically when Suarez was in Barcelona, Messi was the star player, so the whole team played for messi as he was the key man, and now in Atletico, Suarez is the main man and the team plays for him. But when Suarez was in Barca, he would usually break into the space between the Left Back and CB (his speciality) where's Messi from the right flank, would creat chances, crosses or use his dribbling skills to break the space in the center to go for goal. where's now after the Koeman area started, Messi mostly plays as an False 9 striker, dropping to the midfield, combines with Pedri and creats chances for Griezmann, (who plays as an inverted striker, the main reason for his current success) and Jordi Alba as he can go for goal or cross the ball over. Dembele crosses the ball for finding Messi/Griezmann in the box, or goes for goal!

It's all started in UCL, 2019/20 when he was playing Liverpool away, playing 4 4 2 meant dat they can't cover a line of 5 fowards/ midfield of 5. So 1 player was either unmarked or Atleti's player was 2 v 1. Liverpool dominated the whole game, what kept em was having hardworking mids lyk Partey, Koke, Saul etc to make up numbers with their work rates. Luckily, Adrian happened n they escaped. They went to face RB Leipzig in d next round, Nagelsmann studied d previous game well and used it against Atletico. Nagelsmann teams are moe strategic, while Klopp's are moe athletic. And a Midfield of 4 was really struggling to cover 5 midfielders of Leipzig. And comiting a defender wuld open spaces in d defensive line and dropping a forward wuld leave d other Isolated in either pressing situations/offensive transition. RB Leipzig play moe strategic so they were well aware of to exploit 4 4 2. It didn't matter if 4 mids of Atleti were narrow, or spreading. If the spread, players in between d lines were options, n if they remained narrow they used wide areas to attack n overload fullbacks. I believe Simeone started there to adapt his system n expected other teams to use d same tactics dat d Germany coaches used against him.

Barca selling Suarez was a mistake. Suarez may be old and have fitness problems, but this guy is still dangerous, a quick thinking and very opportunistic striker like him is like completing the final puzzle of the team, sharp in attacking, stout in defense. Basically what both Barca and Real lack now.
