Diesel knock easy fix 6.2L 6.5L repair

I recently purchased a few old 6.2 Liters from a friend of mine to put in my old suburban. They have been sitting for years probably more than 10 years actually. I thought for a minute this one was going to need rebuilding before I could use it. As I listened to it knock I figured it had to be something simple. Weak or stuck injectors and as it turns out. That's exactly what it was. These injectors have a pop off pressure that they are supposed to achieve before they deliver fuel. If the springs get weak or the injectors are stuck it's basically advancing the injection timing to the affected cylinder. This in turn causes pre detonation. and a loud audible knock. I mixed in some injector cleaner and marvel mystery oil and after a few minutes it began to run like it was intended. Where do you put the marvel and kleen and 2 gallon of diesel at?? In the fuel tank or oil ?

I have a 94 Chevy 6.5 k2500 v8 suburban that sounds the exact same. It knocks with the acceleration on the peddle is pressed? My oil pressure goes up and down? And it smokes white? I thought I heard something hit inside my engine when this problem occurred?

My 6.5 sounded EXACTLY like that and would even start knocking the same way, meaning I had to give it a little throttle for it to start knocking. I think it started after I added seafoam to the fuel, which made me think injector pump failure or injector knock. I replaced the fuel and added fresh diesel with the same Diesel Kleen additive that you used and some two stroke oil and it didn’t clear up. Next I took the valve covers off, ran it and everything looked and felt normal. Put new oil in it and it gradually improved. It took a while to improve though. I added some thick Lucas additive and some Seafoam to the oil in case it’s a connecting rod bearing causing the knock. I still don’t know if it’s related to the fuel system or a mechanical problem. When you checked the lower end did you check for movement in the connecting rods? I need to check that, but it’s been staying away. If I do that I might measure the space with plasti gauge because it might only be slightly out of tolerance. Hopefully it’s just injector knock, but yours improved after you changed the engine oil just like mine. Check my channel for the video of it knocking.

Yeah it was all injector knock on mine i checked the bearings and even moved the crank around to watch the wrist to see if one was doing something crazy but everything looked really good inside that's when I tried the diesel clean and marvel mystery oil i mixed it very strong tho I had a two gallon fuel can with mostly the additives and not much diesel in it now that it's in the truck it's running great and no knocking
