Can gypsum plaster be applied with a brush as overlay to an extremely ornate wood carved frame, and will it still dry smooth? Other than 0000 steel wool to burnish prior to sizing and water gilding? Thanks for this video. It was interesting. One comment: your statement about cement and gypsum plaster at the beginning from 1:21 are inaccurate. You say that cement can experience early shrinkage while gypsum not, which is true. However, you give the reason as cement having lower flexural and tensile strength than gypsum - this is misleading because cement is a much stronger material than gypsum. Watching this video, one might believe otherwise.
