I looked at your website. Your videos are great and your products look like they are of high quality. I was wondering if you ever considered starting your own subscription service. I watch countless depressing unboxing videos for Battlebox. There are other boxes too, but I think they are mostly junk. I would love to have a medical supplies subscription box from you. Primarily because it will always be useful. It's medical supplies, and you can never have enough. They are consumables. Plus, I know you won't send me Chinese dollar store products, and I think it would be a great way to build a solid foundation of useful medical supplies over time. It would be a nice alternative to spending a couple hundred bucks in one shot. It would also help educate folks on the uses, and allow them to mix and match products into their own systems. Just a thought. I love your videos, and I love that you are building your business by providing education and quality products. Keep up the great work.

You could also follow up with your own unboxing videos, which review all of the products in the box...after they have been delivered, of course. I think most of us would find that service extremely valuable. The best gear is useless if you're clueless, right?. That would be another great reason for folks to subscribe to your boxes, and to your channel. You can sign me up as soon as you get it going. Haha. Have a great day. Keep up the good work man. This is so much more pertinent to survival than arguing about guns and knives. Although, I do like my knives, and I am still kind of a flashlight snob. Don't judge me. Everybody is flawed. We're all human.

Gauze to provide a surface to help get clotting started faster. Not to suck blood out of the body. Pressure to Help the body to seal up the vascular system and stop external blood loss. Tourniquet when blood is spurting and you may have multiple bleed points. High and Tight is better than low and too late. Better to Go High and tight fast then loosen in 3-5 minutes once all bleeding is found and under control than waste time on one visible bleed and not find another worse one. Hope this helps folks focus on the overall situation when you are the first responder with gear been there done that with Paramedics on site and no gear due to being off duty. My gear their skills Equaled a save.

late to the discussion, with my kit I all ways carry a decompression needle. i'm not a current EMT[ was EMT for like 10 years]. However. a lot of accident ive come across, there has been a nurse,medic or doctor show up. they can use it if you have it. also. if your camping/hiking and someone falls, etc and breaks a rib, you are there ONLY Hope....on the down side. we have to take it out when we fly. most kits are allowed on flights. even your shears ;=] Remember. Help who you can. Mind blower. there also a term. Spontainious nemothorac [spellcheck]

Hey SkinnyMedic! I feel really interested in your videos. They seem clear, concise, and at a level that a non-emergency professional like myself can understand. I work in finance for a large financial firm and have little to no experience in medical emergencies. I would like to become certified (perhaps through the American Red Cross) to be able to assist my fellow man in the event of an emergency and not just certification in CPR, but in severe bleeding, broken limbs, etc. Where would you recommend I start? Thanks!

I'm studying to be a future paramedic, I just have to say as a boy scout and camp counselor I must agree with your list. Many of the scouts I teach and adults I work with haven't the slightest clue what to carry. Perhaps someday I'll get I through their thick heads. Anyways I feel that you would love my kit. It's light, simple, and very good considering I have very small budget.

I am a deer hunter, just now learning about basic "Stop the Bleed" and trauma medical care and setting up my very first IFAK. Someone told me I need to get an "Israeli Bandage" for my IFAK. However due to total cost, I ordered the "Premium Personal STOP THE BLEED Kit - Enhanced". It comes with a "4 in. Responder Flat Dressing". Is that a good enough pressure dressing for my IFAK or do I need to purchase an "Israeli Bandage"?

Obviously, we're in an Extraordinary period. So, I can't help but think: Have you ever heard of the saying that it is Better to have it and not need it; than to need it, and not have it? So, giving that, now you have an idea why an ordinary person would want or have one. And keep in mind, that you were once an "Ordinary" person. And you learned from a Book. So why couldn't an ordinary person?

What would be the reason to buy a non-vented chest seal? Is there some benefit to not having the vent?
@ldtexas1648
@ldtexas1648 7 жыл бұрын
From my understanding on one of his videos if you have like a through n through gunshot to chest you vent the front and seal the back. The Hyfin two packs are both vented. Seal off one or use the plastic wrapper and tape to seal the back.

Dont you need lub with that NPA which also takes place in your kit....might as well add 2 OPAs. They secure the airway better than NPAs and no need for lub....just another medics 2 cents.

I have no training on how to use a decompression needle, would caring one in a trauma kit so I could give it to someone on site who has training be worth it?
@matthewhagerty5233
@matthewhagerty5233 6 жыл бұрын
No. The odds of you coming across someone who would need it, and then having someone around who has the training to use it, who isn't on the ambo, is extremely small. As someone who is trained to use them, if a bystander came up to me on scene and said "hey I have this needle.." I would probably not use it. Better to wait till the Ambo. got there where the patient can be effectively managed. Now if your big into back county hiking or something or live in the wilds of AK, it might be more useful just because of the distance to care, but I would suggest getting some training and going from their first before just getting a decomp. needle.
