It is difficult to imagine the development of medicine without the use of magnetic resonance imaging or computed tomography - noninvasive methods of diagnosing diseases. But, faced with the need to choose between one and the other kind of research, many patients are beginning to wonder how CT is different from MRI, and which method is best preferred depending on their health status.
A person who is far from medicine can erroneously think that these methods are identical. But this is far from the case. They are united by the word "tomography", meaning the obtaining of layered sections of organs and tissues, the image of which after scanning enters the personal computer and is interpreted.
