sealed is better but these box makers make money selling ported because anyone can build a sealed box. ported sounds bad. Large sealed is best. my go to is two 15s sealed . a box designer has nothing to say to make a sale but with ported they talk endlessly bout tuning most say a box is tuned to 32 but its rob more like 55 hertz

Dude. You are SO down to earth with everything you talk about in your videos. I find myself to be technically savvy when it come to audio principals, but I love the way you explain things. It gives me ideas on how to explain to others who are not so savvy. Another excellent video!

Let’s Go! Sealed enclosed all day for me. 🫡🔊🔊🔊

I’d have to hear ported in one of your custom boxes to be convinced. From my experience the bass hits lower notes inside the car with sealed but the bass from ported hits lower notes a few feet in front of the car.

I prefer sealed all day every day!

Not sure what you mean when you say that a sealed enclosure can take more power. It will need to handel more power at the lower end. If the driver can handle that power or not is a different matter. The excursion will almost always be the limiting factor no matter how much power the driver can take.

I am just now getting into car audio. You explained this so well. I have a sealed box now and I am going to switch over to a ported enclosure.

been in the subwoofer game 20 years I'd consider myself very well educated with all things car audio. you did a excellent job explaining this. anyone watching pay close attention he's droppin info that most ppl do not understand and will set your audio system above other ppls systems. it's not all about power its about the correctly built box for your application. typically ported run very well in suv or a car with a back seat that goes down typically they don't perform as well in a sealed trunk environment use your time and energy building out what's best for your application that's the key not haveing a powerful sub or amp. additionally I see way to many people running CCA power and ground wires... don't do this if your serious about your system you should be running oversized high quality OFC copper wire with high quality terminals. and please stop grounding onto a painted surface it will never work correctly always bare metal then protect that connection with a sealant to prevent future issues. no matter what how big your power wire is your always limited by the smallest power or ground wire in your system. upgrade them all for optimal power flow. all these things will put you on the next lvl
