Dear Maestro, Thank you for explaining a very important Detail for me through this Video! Personally It bothered me a long time how was is possible that a great tenor Angelo La Forese built his technique "from Uphigh in the head to down into the body" ... and He sang long and just fantastic! But pretty every other singer explained that you should be aware of Punto di Appoggio which is obviously not in the head, but in the body - so you should sing from your body and the reaction will be singing in your head... so it bothered me why La Forese Technique worked so well... You got a brillant explanation for this in minute 18:00 . You said that you can do both: you ca make a Action in frontal diafragma(punto di appoggio) and you get a reaction in the head OR you Do an action/placement in the head BUT it should cause a (strong) reaction in your diafragma. So basically it does not matter there (up in the head or down in the body) you Start your action if your reaction is sufficient and good. Now I understood why La Foreses Technique worked for him... He startet always with an action in his head but it made a strong and good reaction in his diafragma! If you Lerning his technique and you start from your head and Do not get a Response in your diafragma, you are pretty much dead... thats why pretty much nobody can sing like him today. He was the only one who undestood how to make the diafragma react after the action in the head... Now I understand, thank you so much Mr. Trimble! GOD BLESS YOU FOR YOUR WISDOM AND GENIROSITY! ANDREY

I have been practicing to mantain The lean. It really works like a charm. I thought that I was a baritone, but practicing this I discovered that it's Easyer for me to Sing in a higer pitch, I feel more free. I think that my low notes where forced. For what I've research, there are a lot of people singing in The wrong category. Have you got any video where you explains how to Discover you True category?

The reason for a vocal fach to have any relevance is if you're intending on preforming actively on stage and perform operatically... And chances are, if you were to be performing out there you'd be already involved vocally elsewhere. Operatic singers generally spent years learning their craft and that's why the vocal fach exists to embrace the naturally occurring case of resonance and tonality in its longevity. If you're a singer anyhow, vocal fach is not of value if youre not intending to be performing over the whole orchestra. Recording self singing whilst employing the leaning technique over a small scale of most likely to be natural for you notes is the best way. So. A woman can start going from a contralto range into soprano and see where the magic happens. The same for a guy, go from bassy into tenory and I guarantee you that if you do that youll immediately be aware of which vocal type you are. Vocal fach needn't

Hello maestro! First off - thank you! Second, have you or can you address tremolo? I’m not seeking technique, just understanding. I read somewhere that Bjorling had a tremolo. I’m not sure I hear it but I don’t know - that’s why I’m asking. I would love to understand it so that I can better recognize it. It’s obvious in some voices, for example the 1920s recordings of the blues artist Henry Thomas. I’m lost as to what is happening with the voice and if there is a technique. If there is - I can’t imagine it. Thanks again for your commitment to the art!

Maestro, I have watched many of your videos and learned very very much from them. I watch them every night with dinner. However, I can not seem to stop leaking. No matter where i try I cannot prop my breath. When placing a tissue in front of my mouth it does NOT move, BUT, i am still leaking as warm air exits my mouth at a slow pace. I think the reason the tissue doesn't move is because the air is so slow; but is a leak none the less! I believe this is my issue with moving above passaggio because this bad support causes me tension. How am I to find a breath stop when it seems so foreign. I tried the monaco one, the Melchior one (valsalva as you put it) and so many more, still i leak! I do not want to hurt myself and practice caruos walk frequently to the best of my ability, and while i can inhale for so so long, my air is gone so fast even when the tissue stays still. Please let me know when you have time, I know you are a busy man, and I hope you know you are greatly appreciated!

You need a very thin tissu, sometimes they have multiple layers and it does not move, candle can work too.

Hello Mr Trimble I've been doing the Caruso Walk and will soon be riding a bicycle to develop lung capacity Currently, I cannot sing the middle voice, and in fact can hardly speak without my throat closing. Will these allow me to sing without injuring my throat?
@Tenoretrimble
@Tenoretrimble Жыл бұрын
-Salut, skiddly! Caruso said that the open throat is maintained by the power of the respiration. The "sucking inward" power of the inhalation into the lower back will eventually lead to a free throat, jaw, and tongue. That is when you will begin to really sing. Tensions in the throat, jaw and tongue due to insufficient development of the powers of the respiration have been considered barriers to singing for 250. years! 'Swim, Play a wind or brass instrument, hike doing the 40 step walk (breathe in for 10 steps, hold for 10 steps, exhale for 10 steps, and hold empty for 10 steps. Get a rowing machine, take serious Yoga and Martial Arts. In other words, Breathe, breathe, breathe and then breathe more, all day, with every breath, always aimed at the lower back with the lower belly moving inward while inhaling and dropping outward while exhaling. This approach will help and it is like magic after a while. Good luck, Michael t

@@Tenoretrimble Thank you greatly for your reassurance, Mr. Trimble. I've been attempting Caruso's walk daily to build my lungs up for my clarinet, and often find myself gasping after the "hold out" phase and toward the end of the "hold in" phase, mostly while walking. Just today I've read from Tetrazinni about her preferred breath-strengthening method of breathing in, holding for a second or two, and then breathing out in the same controlled manner. I suppose I'll have to breathe, breathe, breathe until such a time as I can reach all ten counts of Caruso's walk, then keep breathing more. At some point, I hope to take up swimming, when I can find suitable ear plugs to prevent ear infections. I've been encouraging another person who I work under and who wants to sing to take your advice as well. Best of health to you, Mr. Trimble.

@@Tenoretrimble Hello again, Mr. Trimble I've been working on my lungs as a daily part of my routine, and though I haven't taken up swimming yet for medical and financial reasons, I intend to do so as soon as I've got the money. I recall you wrote in your book that Caballe said, "you must be able to inhale for at least eighty seconds before you have voice lesson," and that if you can't you should "find another line of work." For me, where I am, I can hardly manage to inhale gently for ten seconds - it seems that goal is years away. For my own health and safety, must I truly wait so long? Separately, if I may ask for an example to work toward, how long can you inhale?
