Very helpful. I used this technique when I wanted to switch a visual to use Order, Due or Ship dates. I added BLANK() as a third/default coice in the SWITCH statement to make it obvious to another developer.

Hi. I have a similar issue, but am not sure how to adapt your solution. I want to have a list of categories, but each category has sub-categories; eg: citizenship with domestic and international as sub-categories, gender with male, female, other as sub-categories. How to I select the categories in the filter and have the sub-categories for that selected category as separate columns in the column chart?

I have a similar issue, but I cannot seem to get this to work. I have a Date table. Each unique date is assigned a week number, fiscal year, week begin date, and week end date. I have a matrix that is looking to summarize one week's data. That data has a date within each record and has a relationship to the date table on that field. I have a slicer selected form the date table. I do not want them to select a range. I just want to select an "as of date" and have it return the return the week's data as of that specific date. If today is Friday, but I want to see my data from Monday through Wednesday, I need everything from the week begin date through the Wednesday date I select. I have tried so many things, but I cannot get the slicer to update the values to be based on a different week beginning date. Everything uses MAX, but that's just the most recent day so I am stuck with only this week's data and can't move back into a previous week nor remove the days that came after the date I've selected either.

Great video. I am wondering if you could help solve a way to make a trend chart for the selected slicer values. Idea is to see if we can create a year and quarter trend based on selection from the slicer. Both Year and Quarter currently have a different slicer pane on the main report page. I want to know if it is possible for the format of the new measure (selected production in you case) to change accordingly with the selection.

Hi. I'm trying to apply the same trick (kind of), to switch between two currencies. So I have a Measure (Cost) that shows the SUM() of CostUSD or CostEUR (two columns in my table), depending of the Value of a Slicer (Currency=USD or EUR). Do you know if there's a way to change the formatting based on the value of the slicer though, so the values are shown as 1€ or $1 . Thanks in advance,

Hi, I am stuck with a challenge, where I need to show Latest date of each ID(Each ID has multiple entries at different dates and times), but the catch is, there is date slicer(Between), so when we change date in slicer, Table should show latest date based on slicer. For example overall date range is from 01st April 2021 to 31st March 2022, so if latest date for id 707 is 18th March, only this should display, but if slicer is changed to 15th Apri1 2021 to 01st March 2022, then latest date between this should display for ID 707 which may be 25th Feb 2022
