In my honest opinion, the OG alt mode was the best out of all of them. Others may have been more complex in terms of look and transformation, but the fact that Megatron could vary the size of his pistol to fit the intended user or use is beyond what any other Transformers continuity has for his alt mode.

All the pistol Megatrons had some pretty unique approaches when dealing with the transformation of the arms, but a majority of them use similar techniques when dealing with the legs by turning them into the grip.

I don't know why, the design of the pistol that Megatron transforms into reminds me of a German pistol from World War II, namely a Luger.

@@Brellor yes, I Googled it, and it turned out that way, I just don't know why, as soon as I looked at Megatron in the shape of a pistol and he reminded me exactly of Luger

Transformers Prime Megatron is the Best Design, I find G1 Megatron to be Overrated and lame, Like how the hell can he shrink to the size of a Gun?! And why was his alt mode a Gun?!

Because back in the 80’s, guns were seen as this big ol’ scary thing that’s “the evilest thing in the universe”. Megatron is considered the big bad of the Transformers universe; has been since G1 started. So that’s why he’s a gun.

@@JetLagannno, because the models were created before the series by Japanese company. Megatron turns into a gun for playability factor, there used to be no plan to make a cartoon for the toyline.
