I don't listen to kpop, I'm not part of those communities and I love XG. It's my first time becoming a fan of something and I even joined their fan club. 😅 I hope they continue to be international artists and draw the attention of people from all over the world.

Their producer made two good points here. First, XG does not fit entirely into either genre (J- or K-) so that part doesn't matter. Second, BECAUSE they don't fit in, they are their very own genre (kind of like DreamCatcher was their very own genre for a long time). X is a great name to put on it. :)

I disagree. I'm latino and Tippy Toes could be a latin song if we only talk about the music like you said. Growing up listening to American music, I hear the influence of this music in Mascara. I don't know what you know about Jpop, but you should listen to Faky, they are Jpop and their music is also influenced by western music. I met them after listening to XG and being both under AVEX (XGALX is a subsidiary of AVEX and XG are former AVEX trainees) I can see some similarities and therefore I say that only people into kpop will consider them (XG) musically to be kpop. If people in the US listen to their music on the radio without seeing the members then they wouldn't think this is kpop, in Latin America this is especially true for Tippy Toes. Jpop has a lot of artist with very diverse music, but some people only think of kawaii groups 😮‍💨XG has the dance training from AVEX, musical influence from the West, a part of the choregraphers and production team are from korea and they chose this song to promote there, maybe that's why is so different from Tippy Toes and their HipHop / R&B genres, to suit that audience in order to gain more popularity. We'll see what they do next, but I need to explain all this because many knetz are harassing this group claiming that they are fake kpop (and many other ridiculous things).

Kpop asthetic has def become a standard of its own and XG do use that standard (I mean their producer is an ex kpop idol, so it's not a surprise) but calling them kpop is a stretch. If only the aesthetics make something kpop, then kpop couldn't even be a musical genre.

Why only Korean people always want to appeal some original?? I glow half century with western music, techno-music, R&B and hip hop by not only Japanese guy. My feeling comment when I heard first time about Kpop is influenced dance musical by sum up few music categories such as rap etc., In my feeling is for XG is except rap, R&B and western culture is little be strong. Director is flown at USA right? He is mixed Korean and Japanese.. but good glow from out of their country. Fantastic sense he has!

Their company hasn't actually specified if they were a Jpop or K-pop group they are just a hip-hop RnB group according to their company

They didn't train in Korea for 5 years, they were trainees at Avex Artist Academy and trained in Tokyo from the beginning, then they started moving between Korea and Japan for training camps, this is what the members have said.

Are you new to XG ?.. reason I ask is because I wanted to know if you have since their "family affairs" cover.

I thought you guys liked this group and was actually waiting for you to react. But this reaction somehow I took it differently. Don't boycott this group. Instead explore their other stuff. You both do genuine reactions, so continue the good job and forget this.
