All in all, Andrew's finest work. Almost genius camera placement and editing. A genetic randomness that gives some people the ability to see, and know in some way, how pleasing the fire, the coming darkness, and the drone use, will be to others. Really fun to see the flora flourishing and filling in. Kudos to the owner for his foresight. Bravo.

We burned TONS of brush in our front field at the farm .. same idea as here, we added a pond, out back .. and dragged everything "tree" up front to sort for saw mill, firewood, and burn :) A year or maybe two years later, we planted corn in the front field (Sweet Corn to sell at the roadside) .. And every year after that for many years ... the area where the burn pile was the corn grew a FOOT Or two taller, and the ears were by far the best ones, we charge extra for them! :)

We lined the bottom of our lake with sand by placing the sand on the winter ice . When the ice melted it evenly lauded the sand on the lake bottom . Perhaps that could be the way to clay line the pond , or maybe not . 👍🇨🇦

Nice video. Your aerial views give a good look at the old stone walls the early settlers made as they cleared the land for farming. All the tree clearing he's done is on new growth reforest after the Easterners gave up and moved West for greener (and less rocky) pasture and land. Thanks for the revisit to show the results. Happy Thanksgiving.

I like Andrew’s style of work. He is just a bit different than some of the standard contractors we see on KZfaq. There are others that are better, but they don’t work with quite so much shale as he does. That crap can be very challenging. Andrew will go back and forth to get things to his liking and will redo something if he has to. He is always bust fussing about getting even the smallest hump of soil tamped with the bucket at leas. He can get away with some things that other can’t because he generally doesn’t have hurricanes to worry about and erosion is only to the next piece of shale 😂. It’s not that simple, I respect, but on this project, I bet watching water flow through the overflow would be very satisfying with the rocks etc. I’m hoping our next cabin will be n an area with similar “soil”. I have seen and watch build many projects in the area and the work is definitely unique to the prairie hills I’m used to otherwise! Thanks for updates Andrew!!

Mr Camarata is on a content roll this month. Awesome videos to watch and enjoy
The spillways have too little material in them. Putting down a single layer of slabs wont cut it. Water will undermine the stones and wash them away. Usually rip-rap works a charm. If your berm is NOT holding the water, then it too will get washed away. You cant just build up a dam and expect it to hold water. At 23.18 you can see the road edge collapsing into the pond. The water is shedding off the mountainside and will; wash that into the pond. When you cut down trees on a hillside like that, there are consequences. Trees act as natural regulators for water. The area on the slope looks good for a year, after that nature will find its own path.

Man, those little Case 650k are a hidden gem of a machine... the cummins just runs and runs with no complaint or stupid def fluid. I've got one with 5800+ hours on it and the oil stays looking like honey in the engine... sure it's got its quirks but it's still a pushin' little machine. I'm not sure it won't outpush my D5K2 for like 1/6 the purchase price and I think it also has better cutting edge visibility from the operator station.
