Rats (cork rats) are classified as a specialty food, the meat is delicious, cool, and rich in protein. Babies are easy to raise, mainly eat at night and sleep during the day, so they don't take much time to care for, and food is easy to find such as trees, grass, vegetables, and tubers of all kinds. Bamboo is a rodent, so its main food is corn, sugarcane, bamboo leaves, and grass stems. In nature, bamboo eats mainly bamboo roots and bamboo shoots. In addition, bamboo rats also eat seeds, tubers, fruits, and sugarcane stems.
You should not feed your bamboo rats starch, because eating too much starch and fat will cause the bamboo meat to lose its flavor, the meat will no longer be delicious and the bamboo rats will become fat, affecting their ability to reproduce. When raising food including bamboo plants (bamboo shoots, bamboo, bamboo, bamboo) it does not eat leaves, sugarcane plants (elephant grass, sugar canes) it only eats the hard stems and does not eat leaves (these are two types (must have daily food when raising Bamboo) and it eats some other foods such as sweet potatoes, cassava, and corn.
The most special thing about bamboo shoots is that their feces are just like sawdust so they don't have a fishy smell. The bamboo's characteristic is to live in darkness, not letting sunlight in. The longer the bamboo is raised, the firmer and more delicious the meat will be. Bamboos weighing from 3-5g can start breeding, and within 6 months they can be sold commercially with a weight of 1-1.5 kg. Commercially grown bamboo can be sold after about 6-8 months, weighing 2-3 kg/head.
Bamboos reproduce quickly, only 3-4 months, they give birth once. Each mother gives birth to 4 to five cubs. After 45 days, the pups will be separated from their mother. After 75 days, they can be sold for breeding. When the rat gives birth, don't let strangers get close to it because the rat has a characteristic after giving birth. Within a week, if someone comes in or out, the strange thing is that the mother rat will bite her baby to death. It is necessary to control reproduction, do not let the bamboo breed too much (3 litters per year is enough). The mother's weight should be controlled to less than 2 kg.
