Well I didn't expect to find an old gun in the hole while metal detecting!
It turned out to be a James Bond 007 one, so I don't think it needed reporting.
I have included some good tips for metal detectorists beginners these include: Pinpointing, digging a neat plug, swing technique and finally the truth about metal detecting!

That's a James Bond 007 cap gun. I found a cowboy six shooter cap gun in my front yard when I metal detected the first time. Probably from the kids who grew up next door. That and a whole key ring full of old dog license tags from the 70s.
