If it is possible to love an inanimate object, I would be in love with that seal twister! I always managed without one unit this spring when I had to rebuild all 4 cylinders on a fellow's John Deere compact tractor loader. The barrels are 1 1/2" in diameter. Try getting that seal in there without a twister! I made up a whole new vocabulary of swear words until I got one of those. From then one it was a piece of cake! Also, I got a single burner hot plate and I keep a pan of water boiling to soften those rings and seals.

Frank…. Reminds me of my dads old Studebaker pickup. The passenger side wiper always worked twice as fast as the drivers side. My dad said it was the way the vacuum was routed… all I remember is that I could see a lot better from the passenger seat than he could as the driver. Glad you caught an easy straight line Friday job. It usually works out for me that on Fridays the time thieves come out!

Thank you for the repack / maintenance being included in this video. I originally found your channel after buying an old 455C Ford NH loader/hoe & had more questions than folks had answers. The 455c appears to be the 'red-headed step-child' of Ford's machines plus it's old and parts are hard to come by. Just one small tip or one thing learned makes your vids very helpful for me. As for digging a straight ditch like yours... well, I'm happy if I stay on my side of the property line.

i was doing 700' the other day and blew the one swing cylinder packing out so that shut the job down. cylinders never been rebuilt and its a 1996 machine so it was due. btw 1986 was a good year i guess since i was made haha.

In my experience age has as much to do with cylinder seal failure as actual use. That plastic junk just don't age well. You on the other hand are aging well! lol

Uuuuhhh, getting older yes sir, but “losing it or getting dumber”, no sir..., absolutely not... maybe just a little out of focus at that particular moment..., yeah that’s it... Always love watching you rebuild those cylinder’s..., it would appear you have done a few in your time... Thank you sir.

Good timing on this one, I just ordered a seal kit for the angle cylinder on my old Case dozer. I've never repacked one before, only seen it done a few times, but I'm cheap, and at my tender age (retired) I have time to try stuff. But if you hear a whole lot of cussing from about 250 or 300 miles to your south-west, that's just me. Thanks for sharing.
