Outstanding job. You seem to be further ahead of the game than most young people. Being able to fix equipment like that is not ordering a part on Amazon, it’s fabricated parts and welding that keeps them running. Most people your age are glued to a cellphone wondering where a potato comes from. Keep farming alive for us. I still farm but see mostly people in my age bracket of boomers and hope to have more people fill the void in years to come.

Most people think potatoes come from the supermarket.

Did this every year with dad. Same potato digger and all. Dad is passed now, but how he would love to see this. Keep up the good work.

That’s a really good back saver my Dad would use the cultivator to dig up the potatoes in the fall and so many of them would be cut your potato digger looks much more practical except it would be nice if you could invent another conveyor belt to put them in the wagon right away and save your back even more 😀

Great old machine. Seems like as if too much soil is getting to travel along the chains to be expelled out with potatoes. More control on the depth would be desirable. Nice demonstration though

Me encanta! yo compré un ford del año 52 (creo), para trabajar con leña, pero como dicen, lo barato sale caro, porque no funcionó bien! :( me encantó ver como trabajas con el tuyo en la cosecha de papa, saludos desde Uruguay. :)

Very cool. What year is the 8n?
@AntiqueIron052 жыл бұрын
The tractor on the digger is a 1953 golden jubilee. I do have a 52 8n that I just sold but I don’t think it’s shown in the video.

I think maybe the potato digger needs some TLC.Grease,oil and paint would go a long way.I would also put a tarp over it.Great video, enjoyed it.

Should have spent more time to lubricate the potato attachment as you spent on tractor, would have worked better

1st thing I thought when hooked up - dude grease er up take better care - you see a lot of farmers just drop the equipment willy nilly leavin it to the environment - tbats what barns / sheds are for

If the wheels stop turning, you have too much weight on the digger. Get off and clear it out then start again. If you just keep pulling, you will keep breaking the web.
