Digging With a Root Grapple and Sifting Debris with a Landscape Rake
I am clearing farm land for hay production and moved this brush pile with a brush hog, an artillian root grapple, a frontier landscape rake, and a frontier box blade.

At Rock Hill Farm and Homes we upload new videos at least 3 times per week, about our 20 Acre hobby farm, our John Deere 2038R compact tractor and other equipment, and the businesses that we run.
These businesses include a manufacturing operation, a Christmas tree farm, real estate investing, a lawn care business, and an online retail store. I demonstrate how I am able to use these ventures to earn a good living without a traditional job.
We have some cool toys and always think outside the box on our little homestead so come along for the ride.
You can expect new videos from us every other day, usually around 8 AM.

It’s hard to get things like that cleaned up nice and separated out. That’s the good part about living in the mountains you can always find a place to just dump it over the hill dirt, wood and all! That grapple and rake did work well together for this project!

So what you had was a field debris pile. Very common for old farmers to cut a tree and pile field debris around the stump to rot . It was to save time. Can’t work around the tree so pile everything on top of it and let it rot.

Nice job getting that pile cleaned up. I never used a bush hog and was expecting you to break a shear bolt on that last tree. Tough machine.

I have never broke a shear bolt. Which is only because it came with a good slip clutch Thanks for watching

Digging out stumps is always a challenge. Our trees in Alaska are a lot smaller. I push them out with my small backhoe.

I’m going to. You gave me an idea for one of my next videos “why would I dig out this tree stump when I have a stump grinder” Thanks for the suggestion
@RockhillfarmYT
@RockhillfarmYT 3 жыл бұрын
So when you made that comment what immediately comes to mind is that if you grind it out the remaining root ball will eventually rot and the ground will sink. Also if you were wanting to till the ground or plow it , you wouldn’t want those roots underground. Is there another reason I’m not thinking of that I should mention

@@RockhillfarmYT sorry just saw this comment but i believe you covered it all well! i was thinking if grinded, it wouldnt be low enough to work up the field without hitting it.
