Fun fact - the song is a Traditionalist Catholic hymn played at funeral Masses, hence the name "Requiem".

As a catholic myself who loves catholic art. This song along with Lilium from Elfen Lied are the most beautiful pieces of music from anime inspired by catholic sacred music. (Edit: Along with Death Note's own Requiem and Kyrie). I hope this music is used again in the new Adventure 02 movie announced this past month.

Alphamon born from the unknown X antibody and regarded as the legendary figure "aloof sage" with his duty to oversee the digital world and disappear when his duty is done. Omegamon born from wishes and hope with the fusion between the war visage and metallic hero which made him the first and the last hope of the digital world. 2 digimons, 2 different paths yet always crossed with each other.

Can't happen since paladin mode require Omegamon data (it didn't fuse with it though. As Agumon and Gabumon emerge out of it) so no it's not possible. Unless there is another Omegamon in the series

@@kujamajo9987 maybe it is because agu gabu are very similar basic personalities to worm and vee, that might change of course, but as of my knowledge i think every digimon has some sort of personality trait coming from their same digimons (like gabumons are usually aloofs)

You wouldn’t be able to put music like this in a American kid show. They would be afraid because it would sound sad or religious. America always gives there kid shows hip and cool soundtracks like rap or rock. Normal orchestra music in American kids show don’t get this beautiful either. In Japan, when they make a kids show they don’t dumb it for children, they write a story for everyone. That why a Japanese kids show can make music like this.

It's so sad that the dub version has so many changes, I mean, how about "let's kick things off" and "Omnimon" could convey the same feeling as the original version? An Omegamon (with that name) killing Diablomon with Requiem as a backdrop... a really shocking scene

i still don't get what's supposed to be holy about omegamon. i know it's supposed to be a holy knight, but in the context of the movie it's just a cool evolution. like, the music would make sense if patamon warp digivolved or something.

The English version sounded cool, but that was it, it was just cool. This version had a more inevitable feeling, like the faith of the world's children coming together and creating the ultimate Paladin (which is basically what happened, TBH).

この約10年後、アニメ・デジモンクロスウォーズでオメガモンが再登場を果たした時に、｢あれもデジクロス(クロスウォーズ作中に登場する合体進化)なのか！？｣と驚く主人公達に対して、テントモンが｢あれはただの合体｣と口走るのを見て、唖然とした。本作の感動を知っていれば、絶対にさせられない発言。しかもご存知のとおり、テントモンは本作の事件の当事者、つまりこの奇跡の生き証人。絶対にありえない。それから以降、デジモンというコンテンツを愛することを、ちょっとだけ躊躇うようになってしまった。

自分は当時(無印)はジョグレスという概念がなかったから『合体』であったという解釈をしています。ジョグレス進化が生まれたのは02からですし、この時は本当にただ合体しただけなのでは？それかオメガモンの誕生を経てジョグレスという概念が生まれたのかもしれません。 (公式が考えていたかは別として)
