One trick I do is remember the first two parts of a set of numbers and just look at the last digits. I'm not sure if this helps a lot but I can remember 10 digits forward pretty easily. So for 978-417-2837, I remember 978-417 as one part, and I just recall that in my mind which is pretty easy to do at a glance and then I look at the last 4 numbers. I think I might be able to do up to 11 numbers max but not all the time which according to humanbenchmark.com is in the 90 percentile if I'm not mistaken. Also I started at 8 digits a month ago, but I've improved to doing 10 digits forward, 5-7 on a spatial memory test, and 7-8 on digit span shown 1 number at a time. Anyone got an ideas on how to improve digit span? I've been doing a game where I try to recall words of animals in order and have went from 3 cards in order to doing 5 cards comfortably possibly 6. It's kind of frustrating there isn't much information on this as we use our working memory on a daily basis and improving it transfers over to just about every area of life to school, work, conversation, and so on.
