basically the disanvantage 4pin rgb header can only produce one color at a time. but 3pin argb header can produce multi color/rainbow/spectrum effect. what im trying to say is that using this converter multicolor/rainbow/spectrum effect will be disabled on your argb fans. correct me if im wrong.

The colour flash is caused by a problem with the converter: When it's given a really low value of any colour (16 or less), it actually translates it to 255 (max value) instead. That's why it flashes so bright - Instead of being (for example) 15 Red, 65 Blue, it's 255 red and 65 blue. The converter cannot properly pass very low values of any base colour, and that often messes up rainbow effects too.

If it’s not working or only showing red and green: try simply unplugging the 4-pin connector from the motherboard, turn it around and plug it in the other way. I was just about to give up when I accidentally discovered this fix. Still doesn’t fix the problem with different lighting modes, but at least you get all colors and some control.

Question: I have a Tecware Forge M ARGB with a fan hub installed. Can I connect the 3 pin from the fan hub to the Deepcool adapter? Do I have to power both with SATA since the fan hub has already a SATA cable connected. Thanks!

Nice video detailing everything to take note of before getting this ARGB 5V to RGB 12V converter and testing it with Phanteks Halos both digital and non-digital no less (I only managed to use it with the Digital ones)! I remember asking if you had this in stock and sadly at the time it wasn't so I bought it from someone else. After testing it though the results I got were more or less the same in this video. While mine was on an MSI motherboard instead of an Asus one, it technically worked: the Deepcool converter on one end was connected to the 12V connector of the motherboard; while the other end was connected to a Phanteks Digital Controller Hub, which in turn connected three ARGB Phanteks Halos Digital Non-Lux and two ARGB Phanteks Light strips (all Phanteks products that I did buy from you). I was able to control them all using Mystic Light, although some colors are incorrect - I've only managed to show red, blue, yellow and green colors correctly. It does indeed seem to be the wiring being nonstandard as mentioned by some Amazon reviews that cause these incorrect colors. I ended up not using the converter and relying on the physical controller the Digital Controllerhub came with instead.

thanks for the help ordered halos digital rgb instead of halos rgb and i only had 2 4pin rgb on motherboard. Now when i see the converter works with phanteks halos i can relax and buy one.

I would get 2 Hubs, 1 for 12v and one for 5V and run them off the converter for tons of ARGB/RBG goodness.

Hello can you help me with my problem? I connected everything right and already tried this on two different ASUS TUF B450M-Pro. The lights are flickering when a non-static color mode is selected in the software. Im starting to think that the Convertor I got is defective.

I have it. It only kind of works with Asus Aura. Only Red, Green or Blue works. And I have to click on the actual preset for that color. If it not 100% TRUE blue, it will not register. Also, effects don't work at all. Just straight solid color.
