Detailed tutorial here: leonlazic.com/thoughts/digita...
I would like to share with you how I sprue digital restorations created in exocad for pressing.
This allows one to:
- Save time not needing to sprue restorations manually.
- Have better surface finish on full shapes, since the restorations are not printed on the supports but rather the sprue acts as one big support.
The advantages of my technique are the following:
- The original Exocad project and the restorations are unaffected.
- Everything is done within Exocad no need for additional programs.
- The mesh is topologically correct without any open faces or self intersecting geometry, resulting in nice printing without any artefacts.
- It's very quick and predictable.
- One is able to save the final additional pressing project and have the documented steps if he/she ever needs to go back and review/check.

Amazing work 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 i will test it soon. How can i know the max amount of crowns i can positionate? Because i used to mesure by the weight (max of 0,8 for the 100g silicone). Tks (I dont know if this information is on the video, but i didnt found. Is there some way?)

Thank you very much. No the information is not on the video and someone else already asked me that question on Facebook. Digitally you measure in volume instead of grams and then multiply that by density to get you weight. Ivoclar and a bunch of other systems like Vita allow up to 0,75 g weight in wax for the small ingot/pellet. Let's say the average density of wax is 1 g/cm^3 and that they used it in their calculation. That means that the max volume you can have is 0,75 cm^3 or 0,75 ml. Note: 1 ml = 1 cm^3 So your threshold is now 0,75 ml regardless of which resin or material you use. You have to know: 1. The provided printing base is 0,25 cm^3 2. The provided sprue is 0,03 cm^3 EACH 3. You need to know the volume of your restorations. Fastest way to do that is putting them in your printing software. Somewhere in there should be the info of how many milliliters it will use. Now just sum all of the crowns and one sprue for each crown together and you will get a preview on the final volume. You don't need to add the volume of the printing base because that doesn't need to be pressed 🙂. If you have an already finished placement with this technique then just load the final .stl into your printing software measure the volume and subtract 0,25 ml (that is for the printing base).

You're welcome. Try right clicking on the file select "open with" and then locate your DentalCADApp.exe it is usually in the folder C:\Exocad\DentalCADApp\bin
