Mom had a first generation Durango. The computer died TWICE, and was VERY expensive to replace. Honestly, replacing the computer was probably the same as buying a new car. Even still, we loved that Durango. I am VERY happy to see this in GTA Online.

My mom also had one. 2003 Durango, silver, full package with the Magnum V8 and 4wd. I think I remember it having transmission issues. Classic Dodge and their trans issues lol.

I think a street/sport bumper on 3:37 and 4:37, twin intake hood from 5:29, and dual white stripe from 6:34 is for making replica of 1999 Durango SP-360, a performance SUV tuned by Shelby

Thank God someone noticed that when they saw the front bumper. I saw that and I was like wait that's the SP-360 which is an amazing Durango. Hopefully if we get another DLC they add in either a second gen ram or add in the ram SRT-10 or at least both and at that point if they do add in the SRT-10 ram I don't care if it's a few million dollars it's worth it

Finally, Dodge is getting some representation; and in the GTA 6 trailer there's a dually Ram. Would really like R* to give us a new Ram in V, since this is what we will be playing for the next ~2 years.

I hope gta 6 has a good list of “buy here pay here” cars like this one. Part of what made gta 4 feel so real was the presence of regular old 80s and 90s cars mixed into traffic with the new ones.

P.S. The extended rear bumper, is just a little longer than the stock one. It stick out at the back more. Not lower or anything, Just longer.

Imo the 1st gen Durango has more personality than the hellcat Durango, it’s just a timeless design, also this Dorado’s taillights help me imagine what the Dodge Neon would look like in GTA given that the 1st gens Durango and Neon pretty much have the same taillight designs.

To me, the first gen Durango is just a Ram without the truck bed and a longer cab. The face looks exactly the same, which is why I thought it was a Ram 1500 with a bed cap at first.

i know conventionally its a strange vehicle to most, but this was my first car, handed down to me from my dad. it was a dark metallic green, i absolutely loved that truck. its cool to see this in game as i definitely didnt expect it😂

Looks like you can easily make the Dorado look like the Shelby SP360, aka a spiced up version of the 90s Durango, so I'm definitely going for that look

I think the reason they added thses old cars is because they are very very popular in the arab car community, we use them for hajwala and all that sort of stuff, especially the old camry and the impala, so because they added Yusuf who is Arabian, they added theses cars

I've been wanting the opposite lol. That's why the Yosemite is still the best truck in the game imo because of how low and custom it is. GTA 6 will have very specific customization I feel,I don't think they're going to do anything revolutionary with this game anymore.

I think they added this generation of the Durango because it made an appearance in 2 Fast 2 Furious. Remember when Roman said “I’m not going back to jail” and put a rock on the gas pedal where then the grey Durango went off free and crashed the two cop cars that were coming from the driveway. Then Brian and Roman make a run for it with the money that Enrique and Roberto stole for Verone while the entire Miami PD is now after them.

My dad had this body style of Durango and this thing was a literal monster. It had the 4.7 V8 in it and we got it stuck in some deep mud, like buried to the frame and it got unstuck with no assistance. I definitely need to get this in my car collection.

My friend will be happy. Her dad had a first gen durango and when the srt10 ram came out he engine swapped the durango into a srt10. He worked on it and it looked like a older suv version of the srt10

I used to own a gen 1 Durango.. i was surprised but happy at this addition. also, im glad it does so well in the snow. speaking from experience, the Durango is a beast in the snow irl. i put on the rhino bumper myself.. but i might change it cause the tiny lights on the rhino bumper do not work..

the street bumpers and some other modifications on this i believe are a reference to the Shelby Durango SP 360, which was first featured the video game test drive off road wide open. it kinda makes sense this exists in GTA V because the main developers of that game, iirc, angle software and infogrames, got folded into rockstar games some time ago, someone from there must still work at rockstar and gave us a first gen durango 😁 pretty cool

I thought it was an R/T model, but that twin intake hood was based off the Shelby SP 360 Durango, which I I’ve seen like once or twice in the road when it came out, but they’re probably all garages now since there’s only 300 made between 99-00.

I'm just excited that in GTA v a second-gen Dodge pickup was spotted I've been wanting one of those and one of these first gen durangos for a very long time I also like how on the stock hood I don't know if you noticed it or not it has the little divot in the hood like the first gen does

Only downside is there's no exhaust mods and the sport rear bumper has cut out for two exhaust and car only has one 😭😭 other than that decent car!

Surprisingly they added a new car this week which is great. I’d thought it would’ve been next week. Let’s hope for every week or so hoping rockstar doesn’t take advantage and release one every month…
