Great video once again Phil ! I've actually had the opportunity to use these in a small bar with about 30ish people, the sound output was quite decent and you could hear the music about 100 metres down the street. Definitely a versatile pair of monitors for the price !

Iv got the krk rocket 8 gen 4 and a krk 10s sub. It's perfect. I can't see myself upgrading for a long time. I use it to produce music. 😎

Interesting comment on the amplifiers used compared to the gen 3’s. I’ve never heard that before about the sound differences. Great review. I own the Krk rokit 8” gen 5’s.

Actually weight is not 17kg each but 7.65kg each. Little mistake there. I was a bit confused because i have Alpha Twin Evo ( 12kg ) and no way these could be heavier.

is there any background noise or static that we hear from the tweeters or... because I want to buy the KRK ROKIT 5 G5 but I saw reviews from people who bought them and encountered this problem Currently. several cables stored, Furman used, power strips changed but nothing.

Not necessarily, but as you know, if you find this happens and it’s sometimes very hard to eliminate it however it’s not just this speaker but all brands when you have interference

Hi Phil. Regarding clarity/sound quality inlc low end, how would you rate these up against the great all-rounder Yamaha HS8's?
@kaislate
@kaislate Ай бұрын
The KRK you can get away with not using a sub. The Yamaha you'll need one. Other than that, the KRK tend to be less expensive because of the perceived need to get the Yamaha because of the older studio photos that picture ns-10 units. There is a whole documentary on how that came about and why people incorrectly think they need hs-8. It is pretty good. If you can get a pair for a good price they are good speakers, but not worth any premium pricing over the KRK.

Not heard HS8s for many many years but they are a much more purist monitor

Q1. When there's no signal going through them (and the volume isn't cranked loud) is there any audible hiss? Q2. Are the highs harsh, sharp and ear shredding, are the high freqs fatiguing in anyway? Q3. Is there an 8"? Q4. XLR input?
@digitaldjtips

No (but depends on the input), no, yes, yes

I hated the rokit 5s and the dm40s. I now have dm50s and they're lacking. Not loud enough and distorted. I loved my alto tx308s and wished I had waited to get those once again. I know they're PA speakers but the sound was perfect and the volume perfect. Can you give your opinion on that please? Cheers

I dont see a benefit of these over the gen 4. Everythi g is available for the gen 4 ones except that "podcast eq" lol. Also the yellow color for the tweeters on the gen 4 look so much better. I thought they would have stuck with that.

Can anyone please explain me why those companies releasing still the same product all over again for two decades straight? What exactly of a technological development is in the speaker? 😂Lol, it is literally last 20 years just the same speaker. They are only milking the cow with different colours. What a joke.

What do you expect, a speaker moves the air to make sound. There’s only so much innovation that makes any sense.
