As I have been looking at Tilta Float and test footage. This I will be interested in this is support. As stated in video cut's down the z axle (Bobbing). Though as I would be using the gimbal a lot it will help take the pressure off my back and arms after a while. Of course being healthy and fitness is important doing this too. Great video

Thanks, finally a budget but sturdy looking option. I saw another KZfaq saying it was not able to tilt up and down, at least with a Ronin RS2, but clearly you show it can be on a weebal. Is it the same for a DJI?

There are a few different models of Thanos stabilizers, and some of them don't let you tilt up or down, but this one does.

Another great thing about the G9 is the in-camera optical stabilisation. Pair that with a stabilised lens and it looks like you're flying a drone 😍

For years we used A6300+16-70mm on shoulder rig/gimbal for wedding video and A7ii for pictures and ceremony closeups… having installed the tweaks app for unlimited recording… for that budget depending on how you intend to stabilise/rig your cameera I would personally be considering a Used A7sii+Ninja5, Panasonic S1H or GH5S+FocalReducer, even A7iii is great especially if you also want to take pictures and be versatile or travel or shoot with only camera lens mic

Same trash could be said for someone getting a Fuji X-mount for a progressive career in video especially the unpredictable nature of wedding… you need to decide on a system that will grow with you skills and budgets = think of things like ergonomics + face and eye autofocus with tracking + Virsitility of lens options at manageable prices + availability of accessories for cinematography + low light performance + brand awareness of clients + availability of Power options + better audio Preamps + Easy workflow + friendlier codecs + reputation speaks for itself + growth path has already been established + low depreciation + frequent updates to match newer camera technology…++++++ Sony and Canon well matched in all… I don’t see how X(mount) marks the spot Name your list to be helpful, no need for trash cans

Its cool, but it really doesn't do much to stabilize the footage. If anything, it just helps with the gimbal payload.

it's made for long term use, helps with fatigue, and helps with that type of payload.

yeah I was expecting this to look more like a railed off dolly shit, but yeah no additional stabilization, infact I feel like it looks exactly the same as just having the gimbal on its own

@@iamcolinclark I agree and I see a lot of operators just grabbing the gimbal and forcing the motions so, I wonder if this thing can balance well enough so all you would have to do is feather touch it to guide it where you want it to go so at least that way you wouldn't be transferring the bobbing effect to the z axis. Maybe it's to light but, I have the float and you can for sure get that thing moving perfectly smooth on the z but, it's for sure not as easy as this setup so, I am for sure curious.

there is actually quite a lot of bounce in the footage. Might as well just use the gimbal straight up.

You can fine adjust it, but once you fix it, you have to unscrew it from the chest to tune the height

I love your videos, but this is one of the worst supporting vests ever designed. I used it for only ONE day using a lighter rig (BMPCC 6K, RS2, Sigma 18-35) and the vertical angle adjusting knob does not tighten any more. The horizontal adjusting knob is already wearing out with metal specks shedding off every time it is adjusted. Everything else you said about this vest was correct, but you should have first conducted stress tests on the knobs to verify the manufacturer’s claims. Some poor bloke will buy it based on your recommendation only to have his/her camera rig crashing down after the knobs suddenly fail. I wouldn’t suggest this vest for any rig over 10lbs.

wow this is interesting. ive been using a frankensteined galaxy vest/arm with the Rs2, with everything balanced out I can get really nice low shots and all around great footage. it is a little bulky though. but when I started researching this one it was mainly because it looked so trimmed down and very straightforward, but maybe thats all actually detrimental to longevity of the unit, like cheaper parts or something. seems like a good choice for simple hand held gimble work but my 6kpro cage raged is like 13 pounds. id be worried having it on this thing. is it at least comfortable with that kind of weight?

@@flipnap2112 It’s comfortable compared to lugging the rig with your arms, though I’d suggest you get the regular Thanos and not the SE. The tilting knobs are a great idea, but they used weak metal for the gears. DigitalFoto should have invested more R&D on the SE. You also don’t want to deal with their customer service which sucks.

I love that thing. believe it or not I bought the DF clamp ring for the RS2 and I slide it into my galaxy vest and arm and it does the trick REALLY nicely, I was shocked. I did the whole setup with the flyking arm and the Vmount on the bottom.. but its a hassle sometimes to get setup..

@@flipnap2112 I would rather the Flycam Galaxy with it's 22lb weight limit Vs. the DF Thanos which can only handle 11lbs and is more expensive. Besides, FlyCam takes customer service more seriously than DigitaFoto who only seem concerned with positive ratings. I was going to purchase the Thanos Pro II, but I'm afraid if it needs service I'll be out of luck.

Which is add a Silicone pad ,When the gear is released, the silicone pad can effectively block the direct contact between the two gears.
