Demo of a this multi-fx system for bass, complete with tube valve. I found it pretty disappointing apart from a few weird sounds - the likes of which I always appreciate. I would rate it as average with a slight yawn.

Love my BP-8. Bought it used, I've had it over 15 years and it's still going strong!

Dang. I had one of these years ago when they were first released. I wish I had been experienced enough to appreciate it back then lol. Just searched for this on a whim - thanks for the trip down memory lane :)

this is the best pedalboard on this planet . better than all the boss and line 6 products . and is made in USA , not in China or Korea .

This processor sounds "tubier" than my all-valve Peavey VB bass amp...No joke. The tube is VERY well-implemented on this BP-8. The pots on mine are getting scratchy; wish Digitech would still make valve bass gear today. They knew what they were doing.

I must be old skool....I still have the Digitech BNX3 and love it! Perhaps I may upgread in the future, but, I subscribe to the philosophy of "If it it ain't broke don't fix it"!
@gearfacts5 жыл бұрын
I completely agree, there are some older m-fx units out there that still outperform the newer ones, and the BNX3 is a great example. I've made a couple of videos about that one. Awesome machine :) Gearfacts

nice. wish the newer pedals kept a lot of the classic sounds

By the sound of your opening statement, seems like everyone likes this pedal except you.

Well yeah, that's pretty much right. This is back in the days when I wanted modulations, modulations, MODULATIONS though ...I was into the weird stuff. This pedal is more of a straight-up rock unit :) #gearfacts

I was just about to say the same thing! It's a fantastic unit if you have the imagination to go with it! i've just bought one and am very happy with it!

It's bad enough that guitar players always think they can play the bass, but to demonstrate gear designed for the bass with a guitar and picking it at that, well.... No sale.

Bob-O Schultze This pedal is specifically for 6 string baritone guitar, as shown at 4:15.

Gearfacts It is interesting that your beginning statement makes the claim "this is for bass" and your written statement here now states that this unit is Specifically for baritone guitar.Ive seen the box,the device itself and have read the manual.I cannot find anything that supports your above statement about this being for "baritone guitar"apparently Digitech doesn't know how they're own product is supposed to be used! Someone should send them the memo! That said from what I'm hearing in this demo vid I wouldn't run my baritone guitar through this because it sounds flat out anemic!

@@richardchristensen1768 I agree with your statement and I have had mine for 15+ years and it is for the Bass and I have created some great sounds from it and still use it today when it's warranted.

Hmm all I could suggest is to check your compressor settings. But it sounds like a fault, I think.

You should hit "edit" and then press parameter over until you get to "gate" and press the parameter up to switch the gate to "bypass".. Good luck my friend

If the voltage for the power adapter is a problem, try using batteries perhaps?

@gearfacts6 жыл бұрын
Oh sorry i just remembered this pedal doesn't take batteries. You will need a step-down adapter. This will take the voltage from 240 to 110. So if your Digitech pedal is from a 110V country like USA or Japan, the step-down adapter will make it work.

I am just seeing your video and have to say this, if you are going to demo a Bass product at least you can used a Bass instead of a guitar. I have had mine for 15+ years and love it but I use it as it was intended, for Bass.
