In this video, I take you through a tutorial of the steps of using the Digitech Trio Plus for Recording and Teaching Parts with Matched Tempos. When you first start creating parts with the Trio Plus, it can get confusing as you want to ensure that the tempo is matched between parts as they are created so you get a nice easy flow throughout your song. While this sounds like a complicated process, the pedal makes it so easy and intuitive.

Great video PG ! ! I was wondering how you turned the simple bass off @ 3:53. I didn't see your hand depress the simple bass led switch and I didn't see any foot controller cord going in to the unit. Could be concerning if it did it by itself. Thanks for ALL the fantastic videos on this truly great tool. Rob

What I like to do is teach the band and then press the looper as soon as I’m done teaching to jump straight into recording the loop. That way you get a continuous performance. Sometime the loop goes automatically into overdub mode which I’ve not figured out the logic too.

Great work as usual!..👌🏾 Your efforts will lead to more sales of this fabulous pedal from Digitech! And I think the Trio+ used with an Acoustic Guitar sounds real cool and nice w/reverb and FX! (The onboard & external FX) Dreamy soundscapes and astonishingly cool atmospheres can be created!!...✨🎶🎸🎛👍🏾 Please do a session on how to use the Looper more effective & interestingly better ok,..”Layerings of loops” to compliment song arrangements & make each song part more dynamic! Controlling volume levels of each “take” of a part/FX used can give some “depth” to a loop and create a fine pre-mix of the sounds in the part!!✨🎶👌🏾 ☝🏾I use the Trio+ professionally so I’m very interested in the pedal’s capabilities.✨🎶🎛 I’ll add some suggestions to assist on subject matter or topics to cover to help with questions and answers if that’s ok. Good luck with the “Trio + Series” vids,..hope there’s more to come!✌🏾

Sounds good and thanks for the suggestions. I will look further into the "Trio Tuesday" idea to see if we can do a bi-weekly jam session with the Trio Plus which will likely answer most viewer questions going forward. Mixing multiple layers with this pedal is a little challenging as it requires practice playing with volume levels and FX. However, it's very doable.

ThePedalGuy Yeah,..I think I’ve got it covered,..been “mixing “ my loops for quite some time now. Have learned the technique..especially when using Chorus ,Reverbs/Delays & Distortion FX. ☝🏾I should mention also that by combining different “Genres” & “Drum Styles” ..one can get a bit closer to the desired beat pattern & groove needed per tune or part..👌🏾 Looking forward to “Trio Tuesday & the Bi-Weekly Jam Sessions”..BTW!!..✨🎶🎸🎛👍🏾

@ThePedalGuy
@ThePedalGuy 4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the question. I'm not quite sure I understand the question here. Once a loop is recorded, you can overdub as much as you want over the original loop. Once that's done, you move on to the next Part in your song where you can record another primary loop, additional overdubs, etc. Please let me know if that answers your question.

Great videos, thank you very much for doing these.🙂 I bought a Trio Plus (with an FS3X) after watching your tutorials and I absolutely love this pedal. I hope I haven't missed this information, sorry if I have: Is there a way to copy a part to another part? So I could have the same drums, bass and loop twice, but be able to have one of those parts played more intensely (marked red) and the other one left in the normal mode (green)?

Oops, I just found the exact same question further down in the comments, so it seems that doesn't work that way. @ghost mall correct, there is no copy/paste feature. I agree that this would be helpful. however it's not that bad without it. My loops haven't been that long or complex so far, (I'm no pro at guitar, I'm still learning and a self taught guitarist and only practicing at home). I 've duplicated a simple part in very little time...at least if I remember the exact settings on my other effect pedals so it sounds the same...😅or I record part after part with the same settings right away and add multiple layers for each part afterwards.🙂 I have to say I absoluteley adore the Trio Plus; it helps me so much getting better with my timings and precision. The different drum settings and the bass lines are great fun to experiment with. 🙂 a firmware update would be cool though!😊

Hi Pedal Guy! Can you copy the music from part 1 button to, for example, the Part 2 button but increase intensity so it creates a sort of “build up”? So when u sequence your song it would play part 1 (regular intensity) then part 2 (same music/bass-drums just high intensity)? It seems like a no-brainer function but...seems no way to do it?
@ThePedalGuy
@ThePedalGuy 3 жыл бұрын
Well yes it would seem a pretty obvious benefit. Unfortunately it doesn’t work that way. You need to teach the parts individually but you can change the intensity from one part to the next. You can change the tempo, the time signature, the drum style and pattern, etc. I’ve demonstrated this a few times on my TRIO Tuesday series. Check it out for yourself

Excellent video and series on the Trio Plus. Watching these has helped me a lot. I have a question about saving songs on the Trio Plus. I'm finding there's more than one way to logically break up certain songs into parts. There's no problem initially, but when it comes to returning to a song like this days or weeks later, I have trouble remembering how I broke the song into parts. Any tricks for avoiding this? I could make notes on a chart but that's my only idea so far. It has become a bit of a stumbling block for me. Thankfully, it's only an issue on certain songs.

@@ThePedalGuy Ok fair enough, it may have been wishful thinking on my part there would be another way. Here's another thing I'm struggling with. When playing songs that begin with no drums or bass, how can I match the tempo I've established while teaching Trio+ the song? So for instance, I want to strum chords for an 8 bar intro and start the Trio+ on the 9th bar as I begin singing the first verse. Is there a way to match the predetermined tempo of a song stored on the Trio+?

Hi, pedal Guy Was watchin your video and Ive used this box for at least two years now in live proformances The sd card only has room for 12 songs but i found a workaround to add more by using the non used parts and using them for 1 part songs I have put up to 30 songs on one disk but it will only let you seq. 1 per slot but it works good for me utilizing more of the memory on the cards since you already talking about this box i thought you could put out in your videos as a option for some i have not seen anybody put up a video on this so if you can use this do so and Thank you Chuck Moritz

Apologies if this is addressed somewhere below, but can someone please confirm whether I can use two 9v 500ma outputs from my Fender Engine Room Level 12 to power the Trio instead of the big wall wart it comes with? Thanks.

@ThePedalGuy Жыл бұрын
I am not sure. You should check with Digitech on that one.
@antoniohillario9770
@antoniohillario9770 Жыл бұрын
DigiTech specs say it needs 800ma, so your 1,000ma solution is even better as it provides more power than the Trio needs. It is is ok to provide more amperage than needed but never ok to provide less... less could actually fry your circuitry. Trio will only consume as much power as it needs (up to 800ma). I combine two 400ma outputs (800ma total) from my Voodoo Labs Pedal Power 4x4 with no issues.

Hi, I have just bought the Trio plus pedal, and I really want to use it in my shows for ballads mostly Irish folk songs maybe 30 mins or more, I have tried at one of my gigs and it failed me trying to strum in the beat on the fly and when it came to chorus it was all over the place 😄 so I stopped it and continued on the rest of the song with my acoustic guitar only, i wouldn't mind but the sound was great ftom it but completely out of sync with me, So Im coming to you for help here, where do I start on your tutorials to completely understand how to master this amazing pedal, can you actually store 12 songs on it prior to performing live at a gig thanks in advance for any help or info you can give me 🤔👍

It's, quite tricky to get the hang of, I tried many times even after watching quite a few of your videos, your right you have a lot of content on the trio plus, I did manage to get one song down with it, but that's just using the one bank all the way through, stand by me, playing away happy out, called for dinner switch off and late switched back on and the beat I made up for stand by me was gone, I thought the unit is supposed tk be able to save up to 12 songs on it, to be able to call on the fly,
