Much appreciation for the truth. The masses have been so propagandized. But the truth hits the soul. It's a relief. Perhaps an un pleasant relief at times, but a blessing all the same. It's the only thing that can bring resolution. I admire your courage!

Great job, Jay. Proud of your humanity. And best of luck to you in your endeavors. I just came to realize Miko Peled has a sister who lost her child to a terror attack, and instead of fighting to avenge her loss she took the hard but the right decision. To fight against the roots that perpetuate the terror in Israel.

Peled mentions that his family isn't on speaking terms with him right now. I wonder if Professor Peled-Elhanan is an exception, however.

It's people like Miko Peled who make me belive that there is still hope for a better future! Thank you so much for your work. Just one more consideration about the Balfour Declaration. I think it would be important to consider the following aspect: by promising their support for the establishment of a "national home for the Jewish people" in Palestine, the Brits have put German Zionists in a very tricky position... in order to gain what German Zionists wanted, Britain had to win the I WW and Germany and their allie the Othomans had to be defeated, than means German Zionist were supposed to act against their own government!!!... I wonder what role the Balfour Declaration has played in nurishing German Antisemitism and letting it become so extreme and devastating...

And in fact German Zionism was the only competing National movement allowed to thrive in National Socialist Germany. Also only Zionist papers were allowed to print criticism on National Socialist policy, while all other Jewish voices but Zionism were suppressed. This is because clearly both shared the same values as separatist movements, one wanting to ethnic cleanse the other, and one wanting to ethnically cleanse "themselves". The quotes intended to not oversimplify the truth

When you ask what Miko misses about the idea of Israel, the very question seems to stem from a lack of acceptance of how the country was created. I am not Jewish, but it is clear that these truths are so very painful … all that idealism and optimism … the idea of being safely ensconced in your own country with your own people … all that has to be broken. Because when you clearly see the truth of the brutality, the deceit and the lies (I am reading Ilan Pappe’s book) , with both heart and mind, you can’t unsee it. Fortunately, you are not alone. This painful dislocation is felt by many Jews and some Israelis, too, all over. I hope your mother, if she can bear the initial step, finds companions on the way.

If he's interested, I think a great follow-on to interviewing Miko Peled would be Reverend Munther Isaac. He's one of the most famous Palestinian Protestant ministers alive today. In that Peled is one of the most stridently anti-Zionist Israelis in the public eye, and Reverend Isaac is one of the most conciliatory (thought still very much liberatory) Palestinian public figures. Plus, of course, Rev. Isaac is a theologian, so he speaks fluent philosophy.

Great conversations …Your unwavering commitment to the TRUTH is strengthening. Thank you all for your work. I have a question for your opine…. The question is at the end of this light diatribe and pertains to an important distinction in the definition of Semite and Semitism. I think that it could help people to see things differently and could possibly help those being persecuted by anti-semitic legislation. Anti-Zionism is NOT the same as anti-Judaism… Even much less anti-Semitism… Let’s examine the definition of Semite/Semitic. Semitic most commonly refers to the semitic languages. A name used since the 1770s to refer to the language family currently present in West Asia, North and East Africa, and Malta. Semite - sem-ite noun A member of any of the peoples who speak or spoke a Semitic language Including in particular the Jews and Arabs. DERIVATIVES Semitization noun Semitize (also Semitise) verb ORIGIN From modern Latin Semita, via late Latin from Greek Sem 'Shem', son of Noah in the Bible, from whom these peoples were traditionally supposed to be descended. People of the Book Semitic Of…relating to…or constituting a subfamily of the Afro-Asiatic language family that includes Hebrew, Aramaic, Arabic, and Amharic. The Semitic language family consists of dozens of distinct languages and modern day dialects. The 7 major Semitic languages are : Arabic and Amharic (spoken in Ethiopia) Tigrinya (spoken in Ethiopia and Eritrea) Hebrew and Tigre (spoken in Israel and Sudan) Aramaic (spoken in Lebanon, Syria, Israel, Iraq and Iran) and Maltese. So my question is: If all Palestinians are Semites by definition… Then how can it be anti-semitic to be Pro-Palestinian? I’ve not in my lifetime seen anyone challenge this obvious overlook of the actual definition of Semite or Semitism. I think it can successfully be argued in pretty much any court trying Anti-Semitic cases…that they are operating under an incorrect definition of Anti-Semitism and potentially constitutes an overthrow of any pending Anti-Semitic cases. Just sayin… Thanks for all you do.

Miko is clearly in the tribal essential-ism camp. Using hyperbolic terms like "apartheid" and "genocide", not to say they are fully mutually exclusive, but certainly they denote vastly different types of government actions. To borrow from Lebanese refugee Gad Saad, Miko displays "suicidal empathy".

Watched Mr. Peled numerous times: "the general's son". To overcome the death of his niece; what a great moral character he has! Maybe in the future, the reporter could reduce the conflict between his pajama and the guests dress. It is a lack of respect for persons who clearly deserve it.

I don’t think critiquing israel makes Jews heroic and wonderful. It is normal to critique something wrong, not something to be applauded or to take so much attention because you did so. I don’t want to see heroic confessional “good” people anymore. They just take up so much space at a time like this.
