After the performance, the doctor scolded him and said he had told Dimash no high notes and Dimash said they weren’t his high notes lol, Incidentally, Dimash said his voice gave out again immediately after he performed. Every time I see this, ( and I have seen this video MANY times), I am so sad for Dimash, even though this happened 6 years ago. My estimation of Dimash went up 1,000%! He is such a wonderful person, and takes his craft so seriously! He is also very loving toward his other colleagues. As Dimash sings, you can see the concern on the other singer’s faces. It was such a tender moment for all of them. It really gives you a wonderful view of humanity!

Then his voice came back at the beginning of the song and although he was feeling pain all the performance long he got to the end and then lost his voice again. This song breaks my heart also! As a mother, I can only imagine the sacrifice and Dimash conveys the heartbreak perfectly- even while suffering himself. The Bastau version is visually stunning, but this was special! Cheers from Canada.

Dimash was still excellent in his illness. You could see the pain in his face as he was getting ready to sing. I know that Dimash seems to take a minute or two to invest himself emotionally into his singing, but this time was different. You, at least I could see the pain in his face, not for preparation, but, for how he was feeling, and it was there again after he finished. That is sheer will, dedication, and commitment to his craft. All of the other singers did show a lot of love and concern for Dimash even before he became ill. One singer, the gentleman in the green suit, who was shown just before Dimash began to sing, even bought an expensive medicine to help his throat. Another singer invited him to her home for the Chinese New Year because he was alone and away from home.

Knowing the true story behind the song and understanding why this song is special to Dimash is because he understand & cherishes the loving bond of family. We often see him proudly express & display his gratitude for the unconditional love & support his family is built on. Inspite of the challenges (no voice) that Dimash faced, he wanted to give "Daybreak" the honor & respect it deserved. Daididau at Bastau is not to be missed and is a Kazakh song which has an important backstory. Bastau was his first solo concert, realizing his dreams, in front of 30,000 people, many of whom flew in from around thd world. It was an emotional moment for him at the end of Daididau. You are just at the beginning of Dimash's journey here but I'd like to pass on a few amazing facts you may not know from a bit further along his way. When his album, id, was released in China it went Platinum in 37 seconds and triple Platinum the first hour. We just celebrated the amusing 4th anniversary of "Pear Day" this October. Dimash was walking through an airport in China to catch a plane while eating a pear. It was filmed and you can still watch it on KZfaq. By the time he arrived at his destination 230 million people had watched him eat that Pear on Weibo, the Chinese media company. "What kind of pear did I eat?", he asked. The amount of devotion to this man around the world, but especially in Asia is astonishing given much of the ignorance of him in the US. Last count I read is he has 1500 fan clubs in 135 countries.

Henry, it's not just how he sings but it is also 'who he is' that makes us feel the way we do. I had a dream a few years ago and it had to do with the world's people facing a crisis and it became very evident to all that the people would have to unite to rid themselves of the dilemma. A global telecast was arranged so that everyone, wherever they were from, could listen to two people who would tell them the only way to break away from the torturous binds that bound them was to begin to love one another. Without love in one's heart there is no hope for humanity. The two people chosen to bring everyone together were two of the most beloved people in the world at the time and were deeply respected. They were singers and when they sang they touched people's hearts and there was no mistaking what was going on because the love in their hearts was genuine and it brought tears to whoever listened to them sing. They were Dimash and Angelina Jordan. They had never met before. As the telecast began Dimash rushed out to center stage and the audience in attendance went crazy, screaming their adoration toward him. Everyone knew who the two celebrities would be hosting the show. He bowed to everyone and blew kisses often touching his heart. While the noise was still at fever pitch he looked to the side of the stage and there was Angelina ready to come forward to meet him at center stage. She began to elegantly walk toward him and when the audience saw her, I know it it is hard to believe it but the roar of the adoring fans of both of them rose to a height that you couldn't hear a word a person next to you was saying. And then when they met, they looked at each other and gently embraced. At that moment there wasn't a dry eye in the house and not a dry eye among the 'billions' of people watching the telecast. Yes, they are both singers and they sing quite differently but what they share is how they share the love within them to people who listen to them and know they are very genuine. And that is the key. Their love for humanity is genuine and we feel it in our hearts.

Dimash said that he couldn't speak at all in the backstage, before and after this performance. But in spite of that he managed to sing absolutely beautifully, by a miracle. He said many times that it was possible thank God and I believe it. This song is heartbreaking and he is feeling every piece of the pain and sorrow 💔

I don’t know if you will see this but I’ve thought the Singer competition is the best singing competition I’ve seen. A full orchestra, backup singers, lighting, they sang as long as the song needed..nothing cut. This was a class show. I’m from the US and there are no competitions to compare to Singer.

Go back and watch the after bit of opera 2 his father is there and Dimash does not know it. When he thanks the band from on stage after he sings he see's his dad it is one of the most beautiful human moments I have ever seen.
