Petra, the reason why they're applauding Dimash is because he went up 5 notes higher than the original version...and by the way the song is in Russian. Sad that he ended up 2nd place...and the winner is hohum...

He actually goes up octive 5 times in this one!!😵 I think he finishes at a D6! I love the way he plays with the audience and it's effortless for him TOO! I've been addicted since I first saw n heard him!!!😂 This was also during the competition

You finally found Dimash! He is a huge sensation only recently "discovered" on a large scale. I see others have shared info about him. I would just like to point out Dimash is confident in his skills, but he extremely humble and down to earth and he pays more attention to his fans than most do! He is only 23 years old.Just had his first solo concert which sold out the venue of 30,000. He is now working on his first all original album. Each time you listen to him, he reveals a different side of him, a different skill, etc. he is very passionate and dramatic in his performances which is partly why several of us just knew you would connect with him. Hope to see many more reactions to Dimash! Thanks for reaction g to him and please consider joining our fan group on Facebook called Di ash Kudaibergen English Speaking Fans. It is not every day that you meet someone with a five-octave vocal range. Dimash is a Kazakh singer (from Kazakhstan) performing, in this video, in a singing competition for a Chinese TV series called "Singer 2017", which aired on Hunan Television from January to April 2017. The show is an annual competition among professional singers. "Opera 2" was his Round 2 performance (in Russian). Now it's time to react to his Round 1 "A Soul's Plea for Help", otherwise known as "SOS d'un terrien en détresse" (in French) and Round 3 "The Show Must Go On" (in English) performances. They are equally amazing!

Petra I saw a reaction video today and half way through I thought of you. It was a guy named Marquez Mcclarty reacting to Grace Vanderwaal's video of Beautiful Thing. To me it looked like Grace turned this guy into putty, it was like the first time I saw you react to Grace. If you want to see how we see you, experience Marquez, he's genuine too. His first reaction to Grace is the Moonlight video which he says turned him into a fan but Beautiful thing changed him

Hi Petra 👍 I always love your reactions. Yes Dimash Kudaibergenov, you missed the ov in your description, has a tremendous voice. This performance is from the Chinese tv show Singer 2017 from February/April. Their version of Korea's I am a Singer competition. Opera 2's from the second show. If you loved this, you need to react to the first show. His performance of SOS dùn terrien en dètresse is one of the best in the show. Also Queens "The Show Must Go On" "Adagio" "Daididau" from his country Kazakhstan. "Diva Dance" from the 5th Element. Celine Dione's "All By Myself". He even sang "Autumn Song" a Chinese song. 💖💖💖💖😚😚😚

Thank you, great reaction! Did you realize that Dimash was modulating the last three aaaah... up half a tone each time? That's why the other contestants were totally freaking out... Please do react to Dimash's other performances! BTW he is from Kazakhstan, now 23 years old, and performing at a TV competition for established famous singers of Chinese language songs. He was a total unknown in China, but not anymore. He has nearly 4 million followers on his weibo account!

@ Petra: Thank you for your reaction. It is positive toward Dimash's performance, but you did not notice that he made 4 times changing key to go higher and higher at the end!!! Each time he changed key, the audience reacted to it very obviously. His technique about pace, range, key changes, about his melody creation or connecting to the audience, there is a lot to talk about Dimash and his performance. BTW, you are absolutely gorgeous!
