The Show Must Go On was primarily written by Brian May, with some contributions from Freddie. Brian did, indeed, intend the song to convey Mercury's struggles. Queen recorded the song just a few months before Freddie's death, so, of course, the song was never performed live by Freddie. Sadly, we will never know what Freddie would have done with this song in a live performance. Still, I will always prefer Queen/Freddie's recorded version of this song to anyone else's live version, including Queen with Adam Lambert. For me, it has nothing to do with vocal ability (no one can touch Dimash in that regard, imo) or life experience. It's simply Freddie Mercury's song, and forever will be. There is no right or wrong answer here, it's for each to choose according to their own preferences. Just saying, you don't need to prove anything, Zain. Music, as with any art form, is subjective and not everyone will agree with you, nor should they. BTW, I've seen Adam Lambert sing this song live with Queen. Others may be able to deliver a technically superior vocal (including Dimash), but, for me, Adam's interpretation came the closest to the emotional meaning of this song. For me. The last time you did a Dimash reaction, I requested his cover of Lionel Richie's "Hello" since you like retro music. In that performance, Dimash made me forget that anyone else had ever sung that song but him. It's pure artistry and brilliance.

Being biased is never a good thing . Love mercury too but Dimash has showing how amazing he is at such a young age . He did not only song the shit out this song but also contributed in change it up and rearranged it. That's huge for a young vocalist . Adam Lambert? Please . He can sing , but nothing close to Dimash , he brings nothing new to the table .

👍💟💕💝💝💟💕🙌💝💝💝💕🙌💓💓

For me , this is a new version of the song that Dimash arranged it with his own style and I like it and fun to watch. He make the song alive and enjoyable to listen, never be boring when Dimash perform any kind of songs because he added his own unique style and surprises.

To top it off Dimash barely spoke English here . To have the balls to sing such an Iconic song and rearranged it to his own style is just insane . Some people will be biased and not look at it with an open mind . I'm a vocalist and i actually prefer Dimash versio because it demonstrates power which is what the song is trying to portray

I agree 100% that Dimash does not have the life experience compared to Freddy Mercury at the time he suffered from AIDS. On this point I want to say that I doubt that Dimash knew (while he practiced this song) about the full history behind the song as you mention here because if he did, I am very sure that he, Dimash, would have worked through as much of the emotional side attached to this song. Nevertheless, I am still with you in saying that he is still young and that in time he will pick up and do the necessary. I like your comments and your overall reaction.

"Show Must Go On " несет очень глубокое понятие жизни!!! просто ЖИВИ!.....Show Must Go On !!!

I found Dimash's version very respectful. At this point he didn't speak any English that I am aware of and had a week to learn the song. I don't think the song has to be about impending death, I believe it can be any struggle you are facing. I saw Queen in concert in Long Beach during the late 70's (the one and only concert I ever attended, I do not do well in crowds), I think I still have the ticket stub and I understand the instant comparison that can happen when listening to a cover. I try to avoid that as much as I can, though I don't work hard at it when it is a bad cover. I listen first for a show of respect for the original, then are they emoting something that will fit the lyrics. I believe that Dimash was successful in both arenas. I liked his performance very much.

While I can understand what you are saying they are two different artists and two different voices. He has such emotion inside of him. The one things his teachers talk about is he feels things too deeply. His life expectancies are different. He understands pain and suffering you and I probably cannot understand. Kazakhstan has been through more than we in countries like the US, Australia, England can even imagine. Dimash wants to bring about a world where people understand his country and culture. That has people accepting others for who they are and not what they look like or sound like. He wants to tear down borders. His latest concert in Russia had people from 56 countries attend. Yes their experiences might be different, but Dimash understands way more than most people even think about daily. He has an old soul. As someone else said Brian May very much enjoyed Dimash’s rendition. I love both versions but I can see Dimash’s heart in his. Perhaps you cannot. That can be different too and it is okay to feel things differently. You might want to watch Dididau with using Gloria Wu’s channel. It gives you an understanding of Kazakh culture and background. I think also an understanding of what has shaped Dimash. His original War and Peace in Chinese might also give you insight. I would use a version with English subtitles the lyrics are deep and express his desire for a peaceful world. He is a young man with a vision of the world I would like to see happen. 😊

@@zainventuri7881 - I appreciate your candidness and respect your opinion. The song, "War ⚔️💣and Peace 🕊✌️", which poster Maykacha Phan referred to, was composed and written by Dimash when he was 23. A lady named Gloria Wu provided English subtitles to Dimash's performance of "War and Peace" and added video clips showing war and it's consequences. Here's a link for your viewing (not necessarily for a reaction) which may provide a little insight into Dimash's mature thoughts which belie his young age. 👦🏻 kzfaq.info/get/bejne/iteHerOVpquVY3U.html

It’s kind of impossible to compare the emotional part - Dimash just 22 here and his carrier just starting and Freddy who was literally facing death at that time. It’s worlds apart - a live that’s starting and one that’s ending. I don’t even try to compare and take it as two different song with different feelings behind it. Love them both so much. To make a cover of such an epic song and make it his own without hurting the original is by no means easy and usually nearly always fails epically - not here. For his English - it was literally non existent during The show - he new just a couple of words and had to learn the lyrics phonetically (the same as when singing in Chinese) and Kazakh as well as Russian which he speaks fluently comes from two completely different language groups as English which makes it extremely hard to lose an accent.

There is a day old release of Dimash with the Super Vocal trio tribute to Queen. You will enjoy it immensely. Dimash in this song had rearranged the original version and fit it to his own style and made it his own. Brian May of Queen had praised Dimash of his take on this song. Spectacular!!!! He learns the song and the story and that is how he sings with emotion. He may not have the same experience as Freddie did but I know he felt the emotion that envelops the song. When he sang this song 2 years ago, he did not speak English compare to now they he continually learns and improve his enunciation.

You can not say that Dimash does covers...ie..he will sing a song like the singer who sang it before him...Dimash takes a song and makes it in his own style...so if you watch Dimash sing a song, that was originally performed by someone else, and you think Dimash is going to copy it, you will be mistaken ...these performances on the Singer show are over 2 yrs old...Please try some of his newer performances...you can find them on his YT channel...When Dimash performs a song, he very gently places the bait in the water, then he starts pulling in the net, and then you are landed in the boat ...You simply cannot compare him to anyone else...

And for me, Dimash's powerful voice was superb but he arranged the song a bit too much and I didn't recognize it anymore. I think if he sang it closer to the original, it might've worked. With that said, Dimash and Super Vocals just sang a Queen medley a few days ago and it was phenomenal! Thank you for your honest opinion Zain .I myself did not know that Freddy sang this knowing he was terminally ill. I'm not sure if Dimash realized it as well . Bcz he does tries to convey the emotions that a song deserve, as Autumn Strong , SOS and Daybreak in Bastau Concert, many others . In my opinion... he is perfectly capable of delivering an emotional and hearfelt performance . This performance to me was his interpretation of a "Rock" Song . the emotions?? I am certain if he had realized what we are all talking about here with the personal story and circumstance surrounding this song , Dimash may have constructed his interpretation of it closer to what is expected of it. If Brian May gave it a thumbs up , so it can't be all that Terrible..😊 Even when Celine Dion sang this , it also did. Not have that emotional impact that is expected of it . And she's a lot older than Dimash .

I don't think it's fair to compare Freddie Mercury and Dimash's life experiences when singing this song to show emotions. As you said, Freddie was dying when he sang this song , so his emotions were different. Does that mean that whoever sings this song will not be good enough because their hardship or lack of is ,not the same as Freddie's? For someone young & lack of hardship, Dimash did an exceptional job in singing & emotion.

I also think Dimash have been working in a uphill battle when it comes to singing in english. So many great songs has been locked away from him and to sing in a language you don't master must be very difficult also from the aspect to capture an audience with actually quite bad english like here. I know that he really is working on improving his english and that he is getting better and better as we can se in newer videos. I can't wait to see what the future brings when it comes to Dimash. He is still so young and more years will add valuable experience when it comes to how to interpertate songs. Some songs can in their form of a cover never get netter than the original, but can be quite impressive in their own way.

Thanks for your reaction, Zain. I think you are correct. Dimash himself didn’t like this version of the song. There is another one was performed in in London, but for sorry the quality of the video is not good, just a fancam.

I just watched your review, very interesting. I didn't know that performance before. However: I have watched a looot of covers of that song, and I have to say: This was the worst cover of the song with respect to English pronunciation. XD At the same time, it was the best one with respect to vocal technique and individual song arrangement. I'm absolutely blown away!!! Concerning the emotional part: You are right, you can't compare that to Freddie. I'm the biggest fan of Freddie, and in my opinion, no one will ever portray the same emotion again. ...but that's actually also why we maybe shouldn't expect it from others. It doesn't seem very fair to expect to see the emotion of someone who knows that he is goind to die :'( to someone who's luckily not in such an immensely tragic situation. No one who's not in the same situation will ever feel and convey that emotion. ...and it wouldn't make sense to expect someone to act like that, as this would be unnatural, fake, and disrespectful towards Freddie (and singers are singers after all and not actors). In my opinion, there's a difference between portraying emotions you can and should portray and those you shouldn't. ...those that would actually be a bit impious to fake portray them as someone who's not in the same situation).Lets be thankful that others don't gave to go through the same unimaginably horrible situation our hero sadly had to... :'(

This song does not necessarily convety the feelings of death....it could be about others as well. Different interpretations doesn't mesn bad interpretation. Just different with different feel to it. Now... we don't want to listen to copycats ...do we?

There is a cover that can compete on a similar level to Freddie's. I will do a reaction to it, it's mind blowing!

Of course Dimash does not have the life experience, he's only 21, there's no reason to compare the 2 performances. It is his 3rd appearance on an international stage. Nor does he have a terminal disease. This is his first time singing in English.

It's definitely Freddy's song. I respect your opinion, that's why I watch your channel ,but I do not agree. We do not know so much about Dimash to claim what he has experienced and what his experience is. Such an experience like Freddie Dimash not needed. With the same claim can be treated to the song SOS? After all, the performer of the song Gregory Lemarchal, too, was seriously and fatally sick when I sang this song. According to your logic,if Dimash is healthy and he has no big losses in life, then he is not good enough to perform songs and he lacks empathy ,understanding and soul? I don't understand your logic. In order to invest in the song the soul must die? God bless Dimash and save him from the experience of drugs and disorderly life.

I actually did too version of this s reaction and uploaded the wrong one. Why? Everytime I hear his voice my opinion changes. You have to understand this is the 1st impression i had so it's totally of the cuff. I will upload the other one with a slightly different view. Dimash screws with your mind because he is not of this earth. Too unique that words to not do it justice!

@@zainventuri7881 I think you miss Freddie and his voice and the image deep in your soul. No need to change anything, because you feel so. Thank you for being so attentive to the audience.

This is a biased judgement, I don't know what it called but your opinion influenced by human tendency of legend the deceased and also by the effect of the first one is better which is very normal but if you asked a computer he will say dimash is way way better. I heard the original though. Not Mature!? Tell me about it!!!! Admit it human.... Your judgement is influenced by your feelings and memories. Dimash is a real living legend...
