Dimash was born in Kazakhstan in 1994. He began studying music at the age of 5, the age at which he was diagnosed with "absolute pitch." He graduated from classical and contemporary music. He has a master's degree in composition and is currently pursuing a doctorate in musicology. He speaks Kazakh, Russian and English and studies Mandarin Chinese. He sings in 12 languages. He has received countless awards and distinctions at home and abroad. After competing in "I am a singer" in China 2017 he became famous all over the world. He postponed his ARNAU tour due to the pandemic, events that he will resume as soon as the conditions are met. He is also a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist (6). He is from Kazakhstan and has been music schooled sense 5 years old and told the teacher that the piano was out of tune! He sings about 6-7 octaves or so! No one knows he is still learning. He sings higher than the piano can go! The Singer is a program for established Chinese singers to face off against each other invites only in a competition where votes were cast by an audience of 500. Dimash Qudaibergen was a last-minute inclusion (a 'dark horse'). But his performance of 'SOS D'un Terrien En Detresse' electrified the audience, his fellow competitors and the viewers who numbered in the billions (this program was one of the most-watched in China and outside). They also got him the nickname "Imported little brother" the day after the show. They also had to get bodyguard for Dimash do to the famous over night both in China and also the world. This song comes from the famous Canadian-French rock opera 'Starmania' 1978, well known in French-speaking countries) and is one of the most difficult songs to sing and made Dimash a mega-star overnight. In 2017 Dimash received a wild-card for the competition “The Singer” in China. He was the youngest participant of all time (22 years) and the first non-Chinese. Only professional, award-winning singers take part. Yes, Dimash is tenor, 6 octave range, and 5 semi tones, he can go from tenor to soprano in a second, and effortlessly. His highest note is a D8, and he can hold any note for 20 seconds without breathing. He is the best in the world. The interpretation of it is if the same, it is delivered completely. The best singer ever

I'm delighted that you followed up with Dimash. Obsessively listening to Dimash got me through 2020 w/o descending into the craziness. I don't "know" music, but I've listened to a ton of it through the years (I'm 70, so I've had time!) and I've just never heard or experienced a vocalist that has this beauty and impact. And of course, the performance skills. He can quiet a crowd in a way few performers of any kind, can. Dimash has been on stage since he was a toddler. Unlike too many in the US, they weren't pushing their kid while they managed him, they were pursuing their own careers and filling the house with artist friends, so he grew up in it and being guided by some of the great artists of his parents generation. One of the results is that he's very down to earth and knows his career and stardom won't be eternal, but speaks of one day 'taking his place in the audience' as a guide to behaving decently now. Now that you've heard this SOS, you might want to listen to the others - he's been recorded publicly performing SOS since 2012! It's fascinating to see to how his voice, delivery and performance skills have evolved. I think my favorite is 2021, the performance for Sister Cities International in honor of Biden's inauguration. It's stunning. Oh, you mention his opera-style voice... he was offered a position with Astana Opera but declined so he could pursue his crossover career. So yeah, he's clearly got the chops to go in that direction if he wanted to. But sometimes he sings pure pop.

He was 22 in this show, brought in as a wild card, expected to stay 2 weeks and get booted out. Only experienced singers get on this show seemingly. He came in second (Politics got in the way) he should have won it. However, he won something much bigger, after this song (he was the 1st on) the viewing was up 600million. He is an artist trained in ways the West don't even use. Vocal coaches with 30/40 years of experience are all going ape about him. Dimash started at the age of five, Kudaibergen began to take piano and vocal lessons at the children's studio of Aktobe's Akhmet Zhubanov Music College. Kudaibergen completed a Broadway Musical master class in 2009. In 2014, he graduated in Classical Music with Major in Vocal (Bel Canto) from the music institute of K. Zhubanov University in Aktobe and began his studies in Contemporary Music (Jazz, Pop) at Kazakh National University of Arts in Astana, where he graduated with Major in Vocal on 27 June 2018. On 18 June 2020, he graduated from the same university with a Master's Degree in Composition by defending his Master's thesis with a perfect score, and receiving a recommendation for admission to doctoral studies in music, which he is now doing or maybe done....lol

Esa presentacion es del Concurso The Singer, en china en el 2017 y marco su lanzamiento en ese pais, donde permanecio por tres años. En ese momento tenia 22 años. La cancion SOS, es un aria compuesta para una opera contemporanea francesa y existen versiones de esa misma presentacion subtituladas en ingles. Tiene una letra preciosa y conmovedora.

It doesn't t matter, that at this point /September 2021/, he just literally blew our souls out of this world, I'm still stunning by his SOS performance /2017/. Dude, I'm not sure if I have to suggest his next performance of this Chinese show, or I want you to skip all them off... Although they are all absolutely mind blowing... But now, I mean latest his three performances... He literally vanish all world well known "vocal kings". He just... He destroyed them all, as if they had never existed. MJ, Freddie Mercury, Mariah Carey, Andriano Bocelli... Any great name you can think of... Really... Just literally... Really... Any way. A great second video would be sinful passion, mostly because I love the different colors of his voice he uses in that song. But he is pretty amazing at anything he tries.

I'm going to be a spoiler here , the top of his range live is D-8 and during practice at this show he hit E-8 and F-8. That was 5 years ago when he was 22, so who knows the real range maybe not even Dimash.

Dimash is a perfectionist and a workaholic. In interviews on Kazak TV, he stated that he wakes up at 5AM (7 days a week). By 5:30AM he has begun doing 3 hours of vocal exercises (scales, arpeggios, lip bubbles, etc..). That is before he even begins his workday in the studio or at rehearsals for a concert. To improve his lung capacity and breath control, he will either swim laps in a pool for 1 hour uninterrupted or hit the treadmill for a 5k run. Sometimes, he will substitute that for a full-on 90 minute soccer match with his mates and their team. (He has good ball skills as you can see here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/odqPn9KctMCwh6s.html ). He doesn’t drink, either! He will often work 12-14 hour days. He says he hates vacations. Dimash is the real deal when it comes to showing how hard work and dedication will make you succeed!

Great reacation thank you. Welcome to the world of Dimashified Dears. Although he has just released some awesome new performances, I would still encourage you to go through the Dimash journey and watch him develop. This was his first performance on the Chinese “Singer” contest against other famous Chinese singers. It made him famous overnight. He had 11 performances (I think) and everyone very different. Once we all come off our “high” of listening to his new songs over and over all Dimash’s “Dears” will be back to following anyone who reacts to Dimash from the beginning of the Dimash journey as we love experiencing it all over again through the eyes of new reactors being blown away by him. He always delivers something amazing

I have watched a gazillion reactors of this performance and I had yet to hear one reactor comment on the 3 "heartbeats" at the beginning and the light dimming in phases along with each heartbeat. Thank you for noticing.

This was on Singer 2017, and it was the first episode, first song. He was very nervous (according to backstage video). When I first time heard him singing S.O.S. song, I thought it is a hoax. So I went through Internet till the morning to listen bunch of his other songs and back-stage clips from The Singer2017 😂. I also found out he didn't had enough big international repertoire at the time, and he (with help of course) had to prepare 13 songs in 3 month (and there are also some complicated rules I don’t understand). So he had to impress them, otherwise he would be excluded from the competition. Singer was competition of in China well known singers (all singers is invited). He was invited as a “wildcard”. The young foreigner, not established singer who at the time of this contest (2017) hardly spoke English. With his first performance (S.O.S.), he got huge numbers of fans in China and his career skyrocketed.

You just witnessed the greatest singer of all time bar none. Name one person past or present that can do what he does...I'll wait.

Dimash, singing here in 2017 in French, is a phenomenon from Kazakhstan. He started singing lessons at 5 when it was found he has perfect pitch. He is university educated with degrees in classical opera, another in contemporary music, pop and jazz with a major in vocal. He also completed a Broadway musical masterclass and has just (18th June 2020) completed his Masters specialising in Composition, and receiving his Masters degree with Honours, having achieved the maximum score of 100% and has now in the second year of his PhD. His range is over 6 octaves (maybe 7 now) but Dimash is dismissive and says it's not how big your range is but what you do with it. He has won many prestigious singing competitions and is a decorated national treasure in his native Kazakhstan. He sings in 12 different languages, speaks fluent Kazakh and Russian, is pretty good with English but is still studying it along with Mandarin which he says is a very hard language to learn but again he is doing well with it. In this performance he was 22 and in a competition for famous professional singers, (nothing like the Voice or AGT), in China he was invited as a wildcard and after this one song was catapulted to worldwide stardom and became a pop superstar in China. He is also famous in Russia mainly for his neo classical work with Igor Krutoy and many of those works are very operatic, but he has now introduced pop songs there too. His vocals range from a rich bass baritone through to an extremely high soprano and his whistle register which he rarely uses, he has hit a D8 for 5 seconds with vibrato. He was on a solo world tour and in his concerts he sings for around 3 hours with an eclectic mix of styles. 6ft 3 or 191cm Dimash, is from a very musical family both parents and his sister sing, mother is a soprano. Dimash was offered a place with the Astana Opera in Kazakhstan but turned it down to follow his own path and he has been very successful thus far, but I suspect world domination will soon come his way. He is a multi instrumentalist too and is very competent with 8 instruments but can play just about anything. He has just turned 27 now, and is mostly known as a live performer, he has released a triple platinum album ( platinum in 37 seconds, triple platinum in under an hour) and a new album will be released soon. He has his own record label and production company. It has been recognised that his high notes are not whistle, but head voice, Dimash rarely uses his whistle register but when he does its spectacular like everything else about him. He has billions of fans worldwide and I am definitely one of them, and he calls us his Dears, as we are all as dear to him as his family, and he means it, he knows who helped to make him famous. He is a softly spoken, polite, elegant and very humble respectful young man. He deserves every bit of the success he is having, he has worked very hard for the past 20 plus years and now his dreams as a young 5 year old are coming true. There is an interview he did for BBC World Service in 2018 where the interviewer showed a drawing he did when he was 5 of him singing on a big stage with microphones, speakers and his beloved music cassettes showing his desire to be where he is now. His recent sellout world tour has been postponed due to the covid-19 epidemic but will restart when its safe to do so. He has concerts lined up in Dusseldorf, Prague in April 2021 tickets on sale now. There will be others around the world including South America. His low tones have become richer and deeper, when his highs are purer than ever. I like that you pointed out, how well he can convey emotions. Since excellent technique and wide range are only tools, which Dimash understands. He is a complete artist. Dimash's repertoire is very diverse, practically something for every taste.
